President Trump will push back his planned rally for next week by one day to avoid overlapping with Juneteenth, he said Friday, citing widespread criticism that the campaign event would fall on the same day that commemorates the end of slavery.
"We had previously scheduled our #MAGA Rally in Tulsa, Oklahoma, for June 19th a big deal. Unfortunately, however, this would fall on the Juneteenth Holiday," Trump tweeted late Friday night.
"Many of my African American friends and supporters have reached out to suggest that we consider changing the date out of respect for this Holiday, and in observance of this important occasion and all that it represents," he continued. "I have therefore decided to move our rally to Saturday, June 20th, in order to honor their requests."

I agree. It’s only one day difference. He gains more than he loses in this instance.
Notice, Mr. Trump did not go the usual route and say
“I’m Sorry!!”...He simply changed his schedule a bit.
Now, vs one or two days before. It’s okay.
President Trump could retake the initiative and issue an E.O. making Juneteenth a national holiday and challenge Congress to further formalize it. Let the Democrats choke on that.
what the hell is juneteenth
Just think of all the people conflicted whether or not to celebrate Juneteenth or attend a MEGA rally if it was on Friday. Now they can do both.
Where I come from that’s called a Win-Win situation.
I like the way he mentions his black friends and supporters -—this will enrage his enemies and the media.
“what the hell is juneteenth”
June 19th is the day the emancipation proclamation took effect in Texas after the end of the Civil War.
It is a state holiday here - as it should be.
No, this way Trump get’s the whole day, Saturday to talk to his supporters with nothing else crowding the news docket.
Let the Junebugs have Friday, Juneteenth. Trump owns the weekend and more people can attend his affair.
lots of pearl clutching from the usual suspects
must be the weather or something
#maga
Disagree. This was the best & most respectful move to make.
He is showing respect. You might like to try it.
[Why cave on something this insignificant? Is he shook?]
Trump has tremendous support among Christian African-Americans. I am certain that a good number of African-American Pastors came forward to request that he change the date!!! He did, and that was a wise and smart move to change the date of the rally one day. IMHO...I am happy...why? Saturday is a much better day to hold a political rally.
The arena will packed, the area around the arena will be packed and the TV audience will be in the millions!!! Go...Trumpie. To get free tickets (2) contact www.donaldJTrump.com!!!!
He’s having a RALLY, not a DISCOURSE. It would have been inappropriate to make a Trump rally about one group of people.
It’s Make America Great Again: INCLUSIVE
NOT
Make AFRICAN Americans Great Again: EXCLUSIVE
IMHO
“Who is advising Trump?”
That liberal puke SIL and his Daughter.
now all we keep hearing is “400 years” of suffering...now this “Juneteenth”...any fool can see where this is all going..softening everybody up when they demand REPARATIONS....and the way whitey is crumbling, theyll get em. ...if not, just riot. Its a done deal....
Fake issue about a fake holiday.
But Trump is leveraging it well.
I wish he would abandon “You can’t always get what you want”
song and replace the end of his rallies with “Happy Days are here again!”
Hopefully not Rive, part of the Bush dynasty. Showing weakness is not going to work with these people... never.
Lol...bkacks ain’ voting for Trump at any higher rate than I do any Republican during a presidential election. especially once Biden puts a black female on his ticket. always with the gravling and it never ever works.
