DALLAS -- Mavericks owner Mark Cuban implored people to have honest, uncomfortable conversations about race as a means of helping the country move forward.
Cuban made his comments Tuesday morning at an invitation-only event billed as "Courageous Conversation," a series of discussions about systemic racism and disparities facing the black community. The Mavs franchise organized and hosted the event in Victory Plaza outside the American Airlines Center, recruiting several prominent local officials to take part.
"I need all of us to really open up and talk to each other, even when it's difficult," Cuban said during his brief speech at the beginning of the event. "Even when it's not something we're comfortable with, particularly those of you who look like me, the white people. Because it's hard to discuss race when you're white.

Well they are the best players on the team.
The conversation that should be had is why is it that the Vietnamese, the Koreans, the Indians, the Chinese, etc. are able to come to America and succeed, yet many Black’s remain in their ghettos dependent on government assistance.
The real conversation should be within the Black community about their culture and what has to change to move them forward. What has to change to change how they are perceived by others. Only they can help themselves succeed.
The most privileged of whites preaching to the rest of us about OUR white privilege...Really Mark?
BTW, Mark. Wipe that disgusting phony grin off your face. It's the kind of grin people have that can't be trusted.
Well there's nothing I want to hear or say which wasn't already said and done before....over and over....every time.
Yes. I think is time to really avoid the dishonest conversations. No kneeling. No apology. No little "we did bad things". None of that matters. You can't change the past. They should hope for a better future. And that better future is very much available to them right now, right here. But they need to change themselves. The ghetto culture is the problem, and there is nothing I can do about that.
I am very comfortable having conversations about race the problem is that most the people that want this conversation will feel very uncomfortable having that conversation with me because they will not answer glaring issues that make them uncomfortable
Celebrate white privilege.
Also ...
People who have time to be oppressed by street names and statues arent oppressed.
Theyre privileged.
Black Privilege though is a weird thing, because unlike white privilege which as a practical manner seems to be being able to live without feeling youre a terrible person just for not being miserable Black Privilege seems to be the right to be miserable without misery, to be personally oppressed without oppressors, to be a racist judging everything through the lens of race but not be thought of as a racist ... to be in a nutshell: self righteous and think the world owes to something because bad things once happened to people who look like you and to have right to adopt any bad thing that happens to people who look like you as if they had happened to you.
Black Privilege is to ignore the distinction between being affected and being afflicted ... or even to ignore the distinction between not being personally affected and being afflicted. To suffer by proxy.
News flash, Mark: youre white.
Classic.
All this is doing is creating more and more resentment and setting back race relations.
Richard Pryor could address issues in a way that whites and blacks could laugh together about it. He’d never make it today in this “woke” environment.
Find a mirror and have it out with yourself, Markie.
PS...all that cash you got? Hand it over, Crackuh. BLM needs it now.
Matt Stone and Trey Parker saw the future with extreme clarity.
I’ll be happy to have a conversation but it’s going to be the Blacks that are uncomfortable.
For instance.. Why do the Black youths think it’s ‘cool’ to be illiterate? Father multiple kids with multiple women.
Fight with the police when they get stopped or pulled over driving.
That conversation?
Cuban - POTUS wanna be.
We are too busy working real jobs and running real companies to care what Mark Cuban says or thinks.
Those BLDM.
Is he the same one that rents blacks with an option to buy them to play basket ball
Liberals are determined to outdo each other, what a yawner.
Okay Mark, let’s talk about racism, just one question though, are BOTH sides allowed to speak?, or is only one side?.
Everyone is talking a different language. So, unless there is a translator, there will be no progress.
