I have utmost respect for cops and what they do. Individuals that are bad should be dealt with as individuasl not reflective of all police. Society has become demanding and ungrateful. It is much more likely a patient whose bacon I save complains about the bill or the nursing service than says thank you. Ultimately you find the satisfaction in knowing the worth of what you do or you do something else but don’t expect any gratitude along the way. Sad.

While I think the whole “defund the police” thing is ridiculous and is most definitely being pushed by neo-communists, I think the guy that wrote this article has some serious rose-colored glasses on with regards to the state of his profession. I have no doubt that there are a heck of a lot of good cops, but for years I have been watching police forces get more militarized and engage in tactics that are unfit for a free society, no-knock raids at 3:00am as one example.
The cop in the Floyd case gave the Left just what they needed to kick off this coup because he had to keep his knee on Floyd’s neck for several minutes even after the guy was handcuffed, and smirk with his hands in his pockets while he did it. Does the word “professionalism” mean anything anymore?

Beautiful article that actually brought a tear to my eye. Our younger son has a close friend who is a police officer and has always been our “third son.” Our older son, his brother-in-law is a state trooper. Both are deserving of great respect, not the cruelty the Left has put them through.

Now they are demanding that "systemic racism" be ended, which really means blacks want to erect a system that guarantees that they can get what they want irrespective of the quality of effort. In other words, a system that defies reality, defies everyone else in the society, and, in fact, defies the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God.
Cops find themselves on the front line that is met when blacks attempt to live by this creed. . .Cops are the ones who are being asked to protect the greater interests of society and to deal with the self-destruction caused by this delusion . . .all the while the media and Democrats continue to encourage the delusions. It is not the job of the police to constantly be faced with the consequences of the cultural rot brought on by bad ideas that foment bad behavior.
Whites don't hate blacks, we are just watching them self-destruct and it is disturbing. . .and fearful. . as it spills over into society at large. We mostly don't know what we are supposed to do when someone refuses to take responsibility for their own life and demands guarantees that don't exist on planet earth. Ultimately, policing requires a populace bound by the common rules and laws of the social compact. It's not fair to the men and women of law enforcement that we ask them to risk their lives dealing with the consequences of a failing black culture and communities that are imploding upon themselves.

There is justification for black dissatisfaction but the extreme ideas and behavior will be kicked out by decent society.
There exists in law criminal medical malpractice statutes and in cases where the error was so egregious that it justifies criminal prosecution doctors can be prosecuted. It doesn't happen often, and in an irony that Mr. Yates might appreciate, the AMA is just as opposed to doctors being charged as police unions are for officers being charged.
Nowhere is his article is an admission by Mr. Yates that among the more than a million sworn law enforcement officers there are some bad apples and people who, through temperament or incompetence, should never have been police officers at all. If he believes that officers shouldn't be prosecuted for "police mistakes" then would he say that Mohammad Noor should not have been jailed for killing Justine Diamond? Should the officers who killed Breonna Taylor not be held accountable and instead be sent back to the streets as if nothing happened?
Police do a hard, dangerous, often thankless job and for the most part they do it very well. That is an indisputable fact. But there is a vary small minority who abuse their authority and that, too, is an indisputable fact. And when that minority step over the line, when they move from enforcing the law to breaking it, then they should face the same penalties a you or I would.

If Barr just did his dam job, then we would not be in this situation. Where are the arrests of the terrorist that destroyed our cities? President Trump said ANTIFA is designated a terrorist group and they were allowed to destroy our cities over the last 10 days.
Why aren’t all their heads and the people who funded them in jail right now? How come they are allowed to attack, kill, loot, destroy and burn and nothing happens to them?
The police should have the full backing of the U.S. government in this time of Chaos. The fact they do not get into trouble only emboldens them to attack more.
I do not understand the do nothing strategy? That is what the Republicans did for 50 years, and it is why we are in this situation.
