There have been some nasty confrontations between people over wearing face masks. One side thinks they’re helpful, both at protecting themselves from COVID-19 and protecting others from contracting it if they happen to have it. The other side thinks they don’t work. The divide has fallen down party lines, as Republicans learn more about the masks’ inefficacy and question the so-called experts like Dr. Anthony Fauci, who has reversed his position on wearing them.
Mask proponents tell those who won’t wear them that they are rude, inconsiderate, and jeopardizing the health of others, especially the elderly. Those who don’t wear them just want to be left alone. Now I’m not addressing situations where the government or business requires them. I’m referring to this insistence that we must all wear them everywhere even though it’s only optional.

Did anyone read the new WHO report from June 5th? Some key excerpts:
“At present, there is no direct evidence (from studies on COVID-19 and in healthy people in the community) on the effectiveness of universal masking of healthy people in the community to prevent infection with respiratory viruses, including COVID-19.”
And
“At the present time, the widespread use of masks by healthy people in the community setting is not yet supported by high quality or direct scientific evidence and there are potential benefits and harms to consider...”
If you question the virtue signaling it is blasphemy.
I laugh at those I see wearing a mask, driving alone in their cars.
Wear a mask while doing physical tasks - just one way to deprive your brain of oxygen.
Oh come on. Step it up a notch. It’s racis’.
Here in Texas, the state government’s advice is for us to “consider” masks. More stores like Target and Sprouts, etc. that originally required them no longer do. Freedom!

It hit me a few days ago why I’m so strong in my opinion on this:
For decades I’ve seen pictures of people in masks on the street in China and Asia. I always thought that if a place is so bad that people have to walk around in masks, there is a serious problem with the culture. It’s always been a litmus test for lunacy to me.
And yet here we were, being told we had to wear masks even though there was controversy and mind changing among the experts. And we were being told that masks used to stop bacteria would help with a virus. Poppycock. The former is a basketball and the latter is a golf ball. IF you are serious about wearing a mask you will be wearing one with a replaceable canister.
So I basically saw anyone wearing a mask either hopelessly ignorant, a blind follower of flawed “experts”, or a person that simply believes everything they see on CNN. I don’t respect the opinion of any of those enough for it to change my behavior one whit.
Talked to several ‘servers’ over the weekend at restaurants we go to. They are all against it. Makes working for them a lot more uncomfortable. No additional breaks offered either.
I will go against the group think.
If I run a business and you do not want to wear a mask go to another business to buy that product. It is my business to run the way I run it.
Mask will not protect you from a virus but is reduces the odds of you catching a virus.
If a person does not want to wear a mask, go ahead don’t wear a mask. You are just not welcome on my personal property (high risk people live in my household).
If you want to get out with the protesters with no mask go ahead. We got a new Darwin Group award for that.
The elderly, I give a pass. The others.....I just consider it a public service that I know what I’m dealing with. I expect to see masks emblazoned with BLM, before long. Give those folks a wide berth.
I am high risk as well. As far as PRO-testers, they can phu cough.
Same here, and I'm pretty sure most wore masks because the air quality was horrible not because of a potential virus.

In South Korea I was told some of those people who wear a mask because they currently testing positive for TB. Basically Koreans will wear mask to keep from spreading something. In China it is the air pollution.

I firmly believe that all Democrats should wear masks at all times. It would make the world a better place on many levels.
