We are in the same situation. Long-term and life-long Californians who lament the complete destruction of our once-grand state. We bought a refuge in Idaho and are spending increasing time there where it is well governed and sane.
I;ve never been to CA , but my son in the Marines was based there about 2 years ago at Camp Pendleton and said it is a beautiful state to look at it, but because of the politics and cost of living he could never live there.
I managed to convince my wife to get out of MA and she did thankfully. Now all of our kids are in the military we are looking to go to WY and check it out next year, but have no idea where.
