New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees apologized multiple times last week for his comments against kneeling during the national anthem. His wife, Brittany, followed it up with an apology of her own on Saturday.
In an Instagram post on the Brees Dream Foundation page, Brittany posted a message which featured two quotes from Martin Luther King Jr., and comments of her own that started with, WE ARE THE PROBLEM.
I write this with tears in my eyes and I hope you all hear our hearts, Brittany Brees wrote. I have read these quotes and scripture 1000 times and every time I read it and the words sink into my heart. I think yes this is what its all about...Only until the last few days, until we experienced the death threats we experienced the hate Did I realize that these words were speaking directly to us.. how could anyone who knows us or has had interactions with us think that Drew or I have a racist bone in our body? But thats the whole point. Somehow we as white America, we can feel good about not being racist, feel good about loving one another as God loves us.
We can feel good about educating our children about the horrors of slavery and history. We can read books to our children about Martin Luther King, Malcolm X., Hank Aaron, Barack Obama, Rosa Parks, Harriet Tubman.. and feel like we are doing our part to raise our children to love , be unbiased and with no prejudice, Brittany Breez continued.

Wrong pronoun. YOU are the problem. Not WE.
Anyone else have concerns about how one-sided these societal debates are?
Nobody wants to see suspects of any color killed in police custody.
But as we parrot back the mantra that black lives matter, there are major issues we are not allowed to talk about.
One key issue was the fact that unfortunately blacks commit a disproportionate amount of crime in this country. That translates into more blacks proportionally being arrested or having contacts with police in the first place. But we aren’t allowed to talk about high rates of black criminal activity compared to other groups of people.
We aren’t allowed to talk about the fact that 93% of black murder victims are killed by other blacks. , we aren’t allowed to talk about the fact that a black man is far more likely to be killed by another black man than he ever is to be killed by a white police officer.
We are only allowed to talk about this is very very narrow number of black men who are killed were abused while in police custody. While that subject is worthy of discussion, we as a society are missing a much bigger picture if we’re only going to focus on that.
But our media and politicians are so damn afraid of violating political correctness, that we are not allowed to have candid conversations about major problems of the black community.
Gonna steal that
WTF is wrong with her?
The Brees family finally gets it right THEY ARE THE PROBLEM. Spineless embarrassments are not suited to be Americans. Go to Canada or Europe, but get lost.
Isn’t it obvious they are going to be destroyed. They are obviously under constant attack.
The people they are apologizing to are pure evil.
This won’t end till Colin Kaepernick starts for the Saints.
A group of SLAVES were led out of Egypt by Moses. He sent them to scout out the land...that they would be entering. They returned, WE ARE AS GRASSHOPPERS, THEY BE REAL BIG GIANTS. I don;t know HOW we can help a whole RACE with inferioty complex...Frederick Douglass said in his Autobiography, SLAVERY is cruel, it;s a White Man;s cause, but Descrimination, in part 2 of his book, would have to be resolved by the Race. Everyone wants to be neighbors to the Amish, or Mennonites..
Yep...thats Brittany. And shes now off on her self-assigned mission to seek out racial injustice. Now, shes primed to see it even when its not there. And she can continue to bank those tens of millions of dollars.
On your knees, Brittany...theres work to be done.
Good God. Has everyone gone insane? This is mass hysteria. I thought people were to be judged as individuals, not by their race. That was King’s message. I guess that doesn’t apply to white people.
so find a tall building and JUMP
Yes, Brittany. You and your husband are the problem. You’re slaves to your racist-fascist Stalinazi puppet-masters. Once you apologize and kow-tow to evil, you become evil yourselves.
Brittany.....you ARE privileged hon.
So why dont you move outta your mansion and let those who just lost their homes and jobs to the riots.....move in.
Oh and give all your millions away!....One man with 5 children was burned out......he would appreciate a ton of your money
The retired policeman who was brutally murdered......left right there on the sidewalk to bleed out!.....His wife, five children and 10 grandchildren could use it.
They were black lives too!
You can live smaller, right!
When you do all that, some of us might care what you think.
That is spot on.
Never heard of him or her. At they TV stars..
Yup, capitulation is a problem.
Instead of walking away from your obscene fortunes, you took a knee for something you unlikely believe in. Sad.
Will there ever be discussions of Brees contractual obligations and how that affected his decision to kneel on the very flag his family once fought for?

I grew up thinking football players were muscle-bound idiots who didn’t have two brain cells to rub together. Now, a half century later, they’re proving it.
