Thanks for providing the word origin for Cristobal. Let’s hope the name doesn’t rate retirement after this season. That would be a very good sign.

According to the rout map, the storm ends RIGHT at my front door in SW Wisconsin!

This should be fun. ;)

As mentioned up thread, just last September TS Imelda dumped more than 43" of rain in TX. The rain fell hard and fast at the astonishing rate of 5-6 inches per hour, giving new respect to the term flash flooding.

They need to get a good fix on this storm asap. One thing is certain--Cristobal will make landfall somewhere along the Northern GOM.

Hiya Blam! So good to see you back for another round of 'canes!

We finally decided to join the generator generation this season. Went with a Westinghouse iGen4500DF - 3,700 Watt Electric Start Dual Fuel Portable Inverter Generator w/ Wireless Remote Start (CARB). This model is a hot ticket item. Wait listed until at least mid-June.

On the slightly higher tech side, also picked up a Nexus (EGO) 3000-Watt 56V Lithium-Ion Power Station Portable Generator.

With these substantial investments, I expect a very quiet hurricane season in 2020. You can thank me in November.

Of course, prayers are always a good choice! Since we invested in generators this year, this should encourage a quiet storm season too.

That is awesome! We have waffled over the generator decision, but have neighbors who have one and stayed during the last evac, and said even with the generator - they would not stay again 🙄 So, like you, we are hoping for a no drama season as well 😇 Thanks as ever for these threads! Tatt
