Ana Sanz, 26, marched for about 10 miles with a sprained ankle on Monday in Washington, D.C., to protest the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis and to demand accountability for the dehumanization of black people at the hands of law enforcement.
But Sanz, an Afro-Latinx from Washington who works with women overcoming domestic and sexual violence, said it's also time for something else for her fellow Latinos to confront the racism and anti-blackness within the community.

Yeah. They don’t play the white guilt game.
However, the left is more than happy to throw them under the bus as with Zimmerman.
Asians became white about 5 years ago.
So are blacks the only group of Americans who have no ‘ingrained’ racism? Wow, what a virtuous lot.
Interesting how blacks are not ‘racist’ just everyone else.
Super funny stuff there.
Should hispanics also be asked to confront anti-whiteness from their community?
Such racism does exist.
They also have a macho/misogynist culture to confront.
What about the insidious black leftists’ racism against asians and hispanics?
Wow! Ms. Sanz probably went to an expensive college and learn to string words together to create nonsense like that. She wants to eradicate the legacy of slavery and has been taught to think like a slave. Great investment there!
They really don’t Mo some don’t like blacks either. They just don’t.
What’s an afro-latino? Is that a Latino with an afro?
And since Latin languages have nothing to do with south or central America why are these people called Latin?
Whatever she is, she’s not afro and she’s not latina
I am sure she never considers herself an American
My experience of Hispanics is that they have an ethos of work and responsibility ingrained in them that’s at odds with the black ethos. It’s not racism that makes them look down on the black population, but a clash in terms of worldview.
I work with a number of engineers from Mexico and Central America. These are men and women who have at least a bachelors degree under their belt. There is no racism in their culture inasmuch as skin color. Their prejudices stem from education. If you are uneducated, you are scum. How one speaks, how one carries themselves, and what job one holds carries more weight than skin color.
Speaking with folks from Brazil, they laugh at why we are so hung up on skin color (most of us arent). Skin color cant change. But education indicates initiative and is something that can be earned and changed. I dont agree with any sort of caste systems, but at least theres a way to substantively change your lot in their culture.
Afro-Latinx????? I think that’s Latin for “I’m a freak.”
“So are blacks the only group of Americans who have no ingrained racism?”
If I didn’t have a guess why this is being done, I would be confused. The body cams, which were an excellent source of witnessing, did not display one racial slur, one talk of bringing down a person of any color, the cop that did it had no history of anti-racial violence, he did have a mouth that got him on the carpet prior but we don’t know what for but it didn’t happen here as witnessed. The cops knew the guy as he was an offender and was full of meth and fentanyl at the time he was stopped and should not have been behind the wheel. But racial, it wasn’t and anyone with a higher than room temp IQ can see that.
Right protest, (never violent, please), wrong reason.
rwood
Go ahead, Democrats. Pull the pin on THAT grenade.
I knew sooner or later they would come for the Latinos.
OHMIGAWD! I needed a laugh this morning.
Blacks will never be able to shame Hispanics. I guess they just dont realize how much contempt we have for them. The Black stereotypes hold true in my old neighborhood and we as kids were reminded we never wanted to end up like them. Mexicans do not stand with them. And we never will. I dont care if that sounds bad or not, it is reality.
