The left’s multi-decade project to teach everyone that America is irredeemably racist has led to the emergence of a new regime in American life.
Amid the scenes circulating on social media this week of protesters and rioters and burned out storefronts and police barricades, two of them stand out as harbingers of what all of this means for the future of mainstream American society.
The first was a video clip of a small group of white people kneeling down before a group of black people. A white man at the head of the kneeling group was praying, his voice shaking with emotion: “Father, we ask for forgiveness from our black brothers and sisters for years and years of racism, of systematic racism.”
The second was a clip of a large gathering in the affluent DC suburb of Bethesda, Maryland. Nearly a thousand protesters, most of them white, their hands raised as if in prayer, engaged in a kind of collective woke sermon, repeating after a man on a microphone: “I will use my voice in the most uplifting way possible, and do everything in my power to educate my community. I will love my black neighbors the same as my white ones…”

More than the rampant looting and the street battles, more than the clashes between police and protesters, these scenes of white people genuflecting in mass public affirmations of their own guilt is the key to understanding where all this is headed.
The model at work here is the Chinese Cultural Revolution, with its mass “struggle sessions” in which anyone deemed insufficiently sympathetic to the proletariat, or thought to have an excessively bourgeois lifestyle, was subjected to public humiliations, paraded through the streets, assaulted, denounced, and put on display as objects of scorn. Often these struggle sessions ended in false confessions and pleas for mercy.
Obviously, no one in America is being paraded through the streets against their will. But by rushing to profess their supposed guilt for racism, these people are admitting that they need publicly to affirm their allegiance to woke identity politics. This represents nothing less than the emergence of a new regime in American life. What is now a voluntary and seemingly spontaneous public affirmation of progressive ideology will in time become a requirement. If you want a career or a public platform or a professional life in mainstream society, you’ll have to profess allegiance to the cultural left.
Already, we see examples of how this will play out. This week, Sacramento Kings play-by-play announcer Grant Napear, who has called NBA games since 1988, resigned after tweeting “ALL LIVES MATTER” Sunday night in response to a question from former Kings star DeMarcus Cousins asking him for his take on the Black Lives Matter movement.
Within days, Napear had also lost his popular sports talk radio show. He later issued a public apology to the Sacramento Bee. “I’m not as educated on BLM as I thought I was,” Napear said. “I had no idea that when I said ‘All Lives Matter’ that it was counter to what BLM was trying to get across.”
No matter. For the sin of being insufficiently woke about BLM, Napear’s career is over.
You don’t need to stretch your imagination to see how this process might repeat itself in the future, and on a mass scale. Anyone with a job in the public eye or even a significant social media following who doesn’t publicly affirm the ideological preferences of the Left might be subject to similar treatment. To a certain extent, this is already the case.
And it has been a long time coming. What we’re seeing now is the result of a decades-long project on the left that is now bearing fruit in American civic life. That project has perhaps found its fullest expression in the New York Times’ 1619 Project, which takes as its starting point that America was founded to protect and preserve slavery, and that the American constitutional system is the source of our society’s ills, foremost among them being racism.
That is, America as such is the root cause of the evils that now beset us, and it is America as such that must be transformed in order to right the wrongs of the past. And if you don’t get on board with that transformation then you probably won’t have a place in the new America.
I predict that white racism/white supremacy, which has been virtually nonexistent or dormant for decades will make a comeback.
Antifa lost.
Globalists lost.
The Cheap Labor Express Lost.
American traitors and the Chinese who support them lost.
Black thugs lost.
Biden and his sell-out thug-son lost...
The American people won. Decent people in the black community won. Trump won.
Why?
Antifa jumped the gun. They weren’t ready - should have waited ‘til late summer like planned. They failed.
Black thugs exposed for what they are... They lost. Looters lost. The forces of law and order won... The country won.
Other than New York the United States will be just fine... New York will continue the process of falling deeper into hellhole status.

My husband is a contractor working for the Air Force. This morning he came out of his office to tell me about several new “diversity directives” he received in his work email this morning.
This isn’t a shooting war, it’s a culture war. Your gun will be useless when you must conform to keep your job.
Facebook this week is filled with anti-racist “woke” memes we can still choose to ignore, scrolling past without clicking on “like”..... for now, at least. But this time next year, if Trump loses?
I’m thankful I’m 75 years old. We don’t have too many more years to put up with this crap. But half of our income is social security. I do not trust the left to leave SS unconditional. The day is coming when that monthly deposit to my checking account will require a loyalty oath and a “social score”.
90% of this boils down to election year kabuki theater.

White America didn’t “lose” its ability to speak openly and honestly. Leftist white America surrendered in the millions. Non-leftist Americans of all ethnicities and races mostly just went along to get along. And here we are.
If you aren’t sufficiently ‘woke’ about the supposed ‘inequality’ of whatever ‘outrage’ happens to be in ascendancy at the time, you’re in danger of having your job taken away, your character publicly trashed, or even worse.

This is true everywhere. In fiction writing, there are now diversity editors who will eject and post demeaning reviews on Amazon of any work not sufficiently woke. There are ironclad *guidelines* to make it past these censors.
As a reader, I make it a point to patronize writers who ignore this. I read indies and some old-time science fiction and thriller writers exclusively.
As a writer, I, for the time being, write for myself and don’t even think about publishing. As an retired elder, this only hurts in that my retirement plan was to write well enough to make some extra money from self publishing. That is now deferred.
I don’t have any answers, but younger workers need to do a gut check:
Can you earn anything at all on your own, without a *job*?
Do you live in a blue state and are stuck with their taxes and regulations?
Do you have any way to leave? Any place to go? Any network to help in the transition?
Can you downsize your lifestyle to free-up money while withdrawing from the mainstream in that area?
Is enduring slavery worth it? Will your family thank you for the sacrifice? Will they actually be better off because you grovel and lie?
Know that no one is ever sufficiently woke. The rules change overnight and there is always someone who will rat you out, with or without cause. It can have nothing to do with you or your behavior. You will never know who resents you, your family members, your relatives. You will never know who decides they must denounce someone/anyone to preserve themselves and their family. Your friends and relatives can be pressured to denounce each other. You can be pressured to denounce your own family. Your spouse and your children can be inculcated or manipulated enough to turn against each other. I am not exaggerating when I say I have experienced and observed the woke joining together to seduce someone simply in order to break up a nuclear family &/or for some perverted personal coup-count. These people make sure the one they control gets the finances and the kids, which are then diverted to the *cause*. It is vicious.
I have experienced the above. It is why I left the left. When I 1st came to FR, I tried to warn people about the myriad groups being formed and the local groups being infiltrated and I was laughed at and told conservatives don’t worry about loonies. Now loonies are in charge worldwide.
You younger people need to make life-altering decisions. Maybe pooling resources, selling out and relocating with plans to not work for others until this is over.

This is worldwide. It is effin’ serious. This is the end of a 4th turning and how it shakes out will determine the next 100 years.
Most of what we hold dear is under extreme attack. It will not end. If we win the election, they will quadruple down. We will have hot kinetic attacks from enemies foreign and domestic. If they win, it is North Korea write large, globally.
