Rep. Ilhan Omar (D., Minn.) said Sunday that Minneapolis protesters who defied the governor's curfew orders Friday and Saturday night were "terrorized" by the National Guard and police enforcing the governor's orders.
"There really was also many people who chose to demonstrate and not abide by the curfew, who felt like they also were terrorized by the presence of tanks, by the presence of the National Guard and a militarized police," Omar said on ABC's This Week.
The Minneapolis protests, which started last week in response to the death of a black man held in police custody, took a violent turn Wednesday night when protesters burned and looted cars and businesses. On Thursday night, rioters set the Minneapolis Police Department's Third Precinct on fire.
On Friday, Minnesota governor Tim Walz (D.) ordered an 8 p.m. curfew and pleaded with protesters to abide by it, hoping to separate those who wished to incite violence from peaceful protesters. By Saturday morning, after repeated nights of violent clashes between police and protesters, Walz said in a press conference that the protests were pursuing destruction rather than justice.
"Let's be very clear, the situation in Minneapolis is no longer in any way about the murder of George Floyd. It is about attacking civil society, instilling fear, and disrupting our great cities," the governor said.
Many did not obey the governor's curfew Friday or Saturday, but increased National Guard presence Saturday night prevented the damage from being as severe as the previous two nights.
The killing of George Floyd, an African-American man and Minneapolis resident, by Derek Chauvin, a white Minneapolis police officer, sparked a national outcry and protests in cities nationwide against police brutality this week.

The usual inversion of cause and effect that the Left uses to obscure their own culpability when there’s no other option available.
During the Obama presidential campaigns, the Democrats hired rooms full of social scientists to advise them.
What advice did the social scientists give the Democrats?
“Use fear. Frighten the voters. Scared people will vote Democrat.”

A lot of the “protesters” didn’t have their brother/husband to protect them.

Wonder if Omar felt the same sort of outrage toward The One over these sorts of remarks from him?

Liberals, who tried to shame others into abiding by the lockdown and wearing masks in public now think they don't have to abide the curfew so they can riot and plunder and break more laws.
Now who is it that thinks they are above the law?
Maybe, just MAYBE, some people in MN should “did something”, giggle giggle and off a few thousand of them.
What they’re terrorized over is that their lawyers aren’t going to get a huge payday against the federal government. They know they can bankrupt cities with litigation, but going up against national guard troops means their normal games of fighting with officers, getting beat up for it, and then walking away with millions isn’t going to work.
Aww.
What would the evil ones do if we really started being like they think we are? Trump would become a tyrant sending armed underlings to terrorize Pelosi, Schiff, Nadler and the rest, who would soon disappear mysteriously as in Russia and China.
The thugs who burn police cars and loot and burn buildings would fall by gunfire and be cleared out in body bag semis. Others would be assigned cleanup duty in the cities they pillaged. And so on.
Lucky for them he is a really good man and is not doing the things they blab to the media.
They will be terrorized by a TWENTY YEAR PRISON SENTENCE and the big black guy named Bruce that thinks they are cute!!!
Does this mean that the Secret Service was terrorized by “protesters”?
