I don't give a flying leap about the racial angle, except insofar as the press and Dems will use it to attack President Trump.

I care that an unarmed, handcuffed man, lying in the street, was asphyxiated by a government actor by kneeling on his neck, in public, in front of multiple witnesses, and while being videoed.

The Constitution is supposed to guarantee our freedom from such tyranny.

And FR seems to be full of JBT worshippers or people so jaded by false accusations of racism, that they fail to see policemen calmly and cooly killing a man, in a way the government wouldn't let the Army do to a captured terrorist, or the prosecutors do to a convicted murderer; all over a non-violent crime of a forged check for $20.

I literally cannot comprehend how any US citizen can shrug this off.

(What happens for example if President Trump were to lose via voter fraud /mail-in ballots and the hard left assumes power?)

“I don’t give a flying leap about the racial angle, except insofar as the press and Dems will use it to attack President Trump.”

And that is exactly how this is going to be played. You really think the media, the RATS and the SJW burning up Minneapolis really care that much about the guy that got killed? They just want to use the episode to tar and feather whites, conservatives and especially Trump.

Yes the cop went way overboard using excessive force and should be punished. And I’m not a knee jerk supporter of cops. They are given a lot of power and I wouldn’t be surprised if a good portion of them have a sadist tendency. What normal person would want that job?

Great points.

Regardless of what happens, we need to remember this: “The Constitution is supposed to guarantee our freedom from such tyranny.”

Even if the guy was a total thug, remember that incidents like this are used by the derps to push us further down the road to serfdom. Have we learned nothing from 9/11 (Patriot Act)?

It’s easy for many people to rationalize government (police) overreach when they think the government (police) are using it against “bad people”. It’s always important to ask yourself “How would I feel if that person was me or my dad/brother/husband/friend?” Are you willing to trade freedom for protection? Sadly, too many are.

Assume Floyd was the worst possible criminal and not merely a forger. Many people would be cheering about this. It’s still wrong. The reason we have a legal system is to mete out justice. When we have vigilante “justice”, too often it becomes perverted. And that includes vigilante “justice” meted out by cops. (I am just as guilty as many others in being happy about it on occasions when I thought that someone “got what he deserved” outside the legal system. So I’m not “preaching” as if I’m always right or I don’t have those same instincts.)

On a side note, our legal justice system has been broken for years. IMO that is changing. By the time Trump is finished with his second term, I expect the justice/legal system will be cleaned up.
