"The autopsy results will be interesting."

There are any number of cases where people who are under the influence of a CNS stimulant die in custody. They can't get enough oxygen and go into respiratory distress. We were trained to be very cautious about putting people in a prone position for too long if they appeared to be under the influence of a stimulant.

Regarding this case, had I been the senior officer on the scene, I would have advised the officer to put the detainee in a better position since he was complaining about not being able to breathe.

Me: “Active resistance as seen on the camera puts the officers at risk.”

You: And they are paid to accept that risk.

Me: Those are both true statements. I was being careful to limit my comment to the initial actions on camera.

Your observations are valid, but as you can see, you’re going to catch holy hell anyway.

All officers involved in the altercation were fired.”

Good now charge them, the neck guy with manslaughter, the others as accessories

Guess their boss saw something other than what you did not “want to see”.

Nice try, racist !

Gee, I wonder why everybody calls you ass-weasel? First, the fact that an urban police agency fires police officers at the behest of the rent-a-riot is meaningless as to whether the officers did anything wrong. Second, what I “want to see” is the autopsy. Just because you are an ass-weasel doesn’t mean I am. What was the cause of death? Was it the drugs he was obviously on? Or was it a knee to the neck (which apparently was done to hold down a violent, flailing subject)? And what happened BEFORE the officers held him down? Did they have a legitimate reason to hold him down? BTW, you would probably feel more comfortable at The Root.

The riots in Minneapolis last night were mixed-race.

Kneeling on a guy's neck until he dies, when he's already on the ground, and cuffed, and with the guy begging that he can't breathe --Hint for you JBT fellators. He wasn't faking. He died.--
and bystanders begging you to get off of him
and your buds running interference against anyone trying to help him
and trying to keep bystanders from filming it
Anyone but cops doing that?

Murder one that same day, all four denied bail.

And all you can do is gargle JBT jizz over wild fantasies of "active resistance" putting officers at risk.

The didn't have to drag him out of the car. They could've put chocks on his wheels and waited him out. Or arrested him later. They had his ID and license plate.

It was over a bad check for $20, supposedly.

What part of "innocent until proven guilty" doesn't count? Oh, that's only for government officials, and then, it becomes, "innocent EVEN IF proven guilty." Someone else on another site suggested posting the ex-cops' home addresses on social media.

If you prevent real justice, you inspire mob "justice".

Yeah, I understand the need to get control of the suspect, and apply force as he resists. But once he was cuffed and appeared to be compliant,I don't understand why the officer maintained the position of having his knee on the man's head. Is that a technique that is taught to subdue a resisting suspect?

Show me on the video where the uncontrollable, dangerous-to-himself-and-bystanders flailing is, which you pre-emptively declared to be justification for killing him, in an earlier post?
And show me the toxicology report which shows he was on drugs. Since you’re “waiting for facts” and all...

See, if anyone BUT police, had dragged a guy out of his car, and one of them kneeled on his neck until the guy died, while the kneeler’s buddies ran interference to keep anyone from helping the guy on the ground, and tried to block the view of bystanders filming it?
_________________________________________
Reading comprehension is obviously not your strong suit. The officers were pinning him to the ground? Why? Just for the hell of it? Or did they believe he was on PCP or some other drug? Maybe you resist arrest, but normal people do not FIGHT with cops when asked to step out of a car. This guy was totally, 100% resisting the officer, requiring at least one other officer to assist in the arrest. Drugs? PCP? We don’t know until the autopsy is done and we see the rest of the video. You act like this guy did NOTHING to cause his own demise.

“Active resistance as seen on the camera puts the officers at risk.”

Also puts the public at risk. At that point the police officers do not know the intent of the man. He could have a gun to start shooting with.

Not a cop hater. I saw the very video where the cop had his knee on the neck. The news media is reporting the knee was on the neck for 7 mins. Would like to see the full 7 min video proving this.

That is not a good place to put a knee if you want to keep the person alive to face a judge for what ever crime he committed.

The short video of the man resisting arrest does not justified his death. Maybe we have some body cams to give us more info.

I have never had police training before is this a standard method (knee on neck) for controlling someone?

The officer standing up watching the knee on the neck have the responsibility to tell the other police officer to be careful don’t kill him?

How did the knee get to the neck if is not standard? Did it slid down. I would like to hear the police officer explain this. It might be bad standard practice they use on every suspect who resist arrest. I am not train police officer so I do not know.

Should the news media / public hold the entire police department accountable for bad actions/training of the few?

I understand why they are mad, they should wait to see what the courts do before burning a town and hurting local businesses that did not have anything to do with this.

To the best of my knowledge, since I don’t know what EVERY POLICE DEPARTMENT’S POLICY IS IN THE WHOLE DAMNED WORLD, I would say no, officers are not trained to subdue people by putting their knee on the head. And if this video, the officer’s knee was not on the head. His knee was between the shoulder blades.

You're lying through your foul teeth.

He DIDN'T cause his own demise. He didn't kneel on his own neck.

The logic you're using is literally that used by terrorists and hostage takers: "if you don't do what I demand, I *must* use deadly force, and then it's your own fault"

The "must" and "deadly" is where you go wrong.

Once the guy was on the ground and in cuffs, deadly force was no longer required.

By definition.

Should the news media / public hold the entire police department accountable for bad actions/training of the few?

They do it with
Males
Whites
Heterosexuals
Christians
Deplorables
so why stop there?

Nope, you're projecting, JBT-licker, on behalf of your thug friends.

Applicants to be police have, before now, been rejected cause their IQ was too high.

Case closed.

Wasting your time trying to argue/reason with him.

I wonder what video show the the officer buddy trying to block people from filming..

I do think the guy standing has a body cam hopefully. PCP could explain why the officer had to put a knee on the neck. We will not know until the investigations are done, let justice handle it. My other post I wonder if that is standard training/practice.

Disclaimer: Not a police officer so I do not how to safely arrest someone high on drugs or resisting arrest.
