"New video appears to show police forcing George Floyd out of his car moments before an officer knelt on his neck ...

“The man seems to indicate that during his time at the academy that move was not legal. “
I would not want to be that police officer if that is not a legal move. I wonder if was legal at one point then they change policy and did not train the old guys on the new policies.
I saw a lot of stuff that could be avoided with good training programs. Note: not something that resulted in death.
The short police officer stated they tried to get him in back of the car for 10 mins..
I have a feeling more stuff will come out. I also see new department policies and training in the future.
Very valid point, the ER person check the pulse before they took him, the police did not... The crowd was demanding a pulse check.
I also see new department policies and training in the future.
Let us hope they do not include things like those no hesitation targets during the Obama years.
By the way, thank you for the respectful correspondence.
If the cops were fired before Internal Affairs could complete its investigation, then that was a colossal mistake. It's assumed at this point that they are all going to invoke their Miranda rights. But, if they were still on the force, even in a suspended status, they could all be compelled to give a statement to Internal Affairs which could be used to impeach testimony at a subsequent trial. That opportunity has now been eliminated because as non employees, their Department cannot compel them to do anything now.
“Dumb cops, dumb cops, whatcha gonna do, whatcha gonna do with a low IQ?”.
No actually it was EXACTLY the right move. Far too often the way these things are “handled” is the cops get vacations (suspended with pay) while some BS investigation grinds around and does nothing. By firing them outright the force said “one way or the other bad stuff happened and we need to be rid of these fools”. You can’t actually be compelled to testify by IA, it’s a constitutional guarantee and all. The only “compulsion” they have is if you don’t talk they can fire you, BFD. Given what happened with the LAST murderer with a badge in the Twin Cities they absolutely HAD TO take some action immediately.
First, kneeling on the back of somebody’s neck does not kill them and does not restrict their breathing, especially the amount of pressure the officer was using. When the deceased turned his neck to the side, that was somewhat troubling. Again, we do not know if that caused his death.
Second, the only reason the deceased can’t get up is b/c 3 cops are holding him down. He was fighting/resisting the cops. This is NOT normal and suggests that this guy was on PCP. BTW, in the video you can hear the deceased’s friend encouraging him to get into the police car and to quit fighting with the cops.
Third, criminals LIE. They pretend to be in medical distress and then, as soon as the cuffs come off, they run or attack the police. It’s easy to sit on a couch and Monday morning QB. If the cops had uncuffed him and he attacked them or a citizen, or he grabbed their gun and started shooting, or he ran and got killed by a passing truck, I’m sure you would be blaming the cops for not holding the guy down.
Here’s the bottom line: If you don’t want to die or get injured in police custody, act civilized. 99% of these “unarmed black men” cases always start with the unarmed black male resisting arrest, attacking the cop, fleeing in a car, etc. This guy chose to resist arrest. He chose to use the drugs (I presume he was on drugs, or he was doing a great imitation of someone who was on drugs). At any time during this entire episode he could have complied with orders and the police would have kindly and gently put him in a squad car. Bad things can happen when you put police in difficult situations. Finally, as I note in all my posts, I am open-minded on this case.

The officer’s knee was on the side of Floyd’s jaw, immediately adjacent to his ear.
You're wrong again.
Police lie.
It’s called “testilying.”
They never took the cuffs off, so not applicable.
The victim wasn't lying either. He died.
I'll bet you made a copy of that video to fantasize over.
Nicely said. Fighting with a cop is stupid, but it shouldn’t cost you your life if your in no position to hurt anyone. I felt the same way about the Rodney King case-once multiple officers were at the scene, they could have just pinioned his arms and legs until he was cuffed.
Some people apparently do. Having just watched the whole vid of them murdering this man, I hope every single one of the cops involved gets beaten to death by an angry mob. Beaten. To. Death.
Can we wait for the autopsy report or should we just lynch the cops instead?
This incident is a metaphor for what the CDC, Fauci, and the blue state governors are doing to the economy and to America.
