A black man says he asked a white woman in Central Park to put her dog on a leash.
Then, video shows her calling police and telling emergency operators that the man was threatening her and her dog. The woman, who has been identified as Amy Cooper, has apologized. But by Tuesday afternoon she was fired from her job at an investment management firm.
"Following our internal review of the incident in Central Park yesterday, we have made the decision to terminate the employee involved, effective immediately. We do not tolerate racism of any kind at Franklin Templeton," the company said in a statement posted to Twitter.
Depends upon what you mean by ‘blackbird’. (Some of us birders even find crows very interesting.)
Also, the extreme publicity would likely cost the business more than her salary. They dont want a reputation of where that b!tch works.
God forbid he ask her to follow the rules of the park.

[Oh, she’ll find another job in some Midwest investment company, something like that.]
Apparently the thing that Cooper does (this is not the first time he has encountered dogs running free in this area even though it is posted as prohibited) is to carry dog treats and give them to the dogs. He says that owners dont like this, which is true because for all they know this strange man is about to poison their dog.
Karen was acting like the people who refuse to wear masks. Americans are really not good at following rules if the rules conflict with the stuff that they like to do. Rules are good for other people and for prohibiting things that you dont do anyway, but for special superhero people like each and every American imagines himself (or herself ) to be and concerning things that you like to do, the rules really should not apply.]
He threatened her before the filming of the video you’re basing your ignorant opinion on started.
So yes, sometimes it pays to read through the thread before posting ignorant comments.
Somewhat different situation, my dogs a leashed when walking, and large enough no one would offer a treat. But I'd assume poison was a distinct possibility. What else could he intend to do, his words regarding the treats, Im going to do what I want, but youre not going to like it
Chad vs Keren. They were both being jerks. The black guy in not the dog monitor and the woman well was just a jerk. Going to check to see if I have any investments with Franklin Templeton. Don’t want to invest with jerks who fire off work employees.
Small town vs big town issues can make a difference
wouldn’t be a problem if the DOG WAS ON HIS LEASH.
ME: Look, if youre going to do what you want, Im going to do what I want, but youre not going to like it.
HER: Whats that?
ME (to the dog): Come here, puppy!
That is a F’N THREAT. He could have grabbed the dog and stabbed it or slammed it.
Been there with a Dyke threatening mine, similar but hostile language.
He intended to escalate the situation. A F’N opportunist holding the race card.
He threatened her right before the filming started.
This is what he said right before filming began:
‘Look, if youre going to do what you want, Im going to do what I want, but youre not going to like it.’
Then he pulled out a dog treat and started calling to her dog. She’s not a mind-reader and she doesn’t know what he was going to do. It sounds like a threat to me.
She likely succumbed to the very beast she set for conservatives.
Id rather not have employers bail on employees for such things, but it happens. She shouldnt have done what she did.
At this time, the guy seems to be totally in the clear. Sadly, police got involved under false pretenses against him.
I can't take you seriously; I think you're trying to save face.
I would like any woman following this thread to identify herself as such and state publicly that the words, "I am being threatened by a man in the Bramble. Please send the cops immediately." could be taken to mean something other than, "I believe myself to be in danger of rape or murder."
“He could have grabbed the dog and stabbed it or slammed it.”
Or he could have given it a doggy treat, which was actually what was happening. It had the desired effect and she leashed her dog.
If she shows that bad of judgement and character in her private life, who in their right mind would trust her to make financial decisions that impact others lives?
Just a guess on my part.
Franklin Templeton has a Biden problem

Damn, you took my post again.
Similar thoughts gators.
It is against law before 9 p.m. but from the statement they didn’t fire her for breaking the law but for making the phone call. Need more info on this one before playing judge. Did he or did he not threaten her? A threat is considered assault.
But because the camera here doesn't lie, and because she is staying in close proximity to him, she clearly doesn't feel threatened by him, no matter what he said prior to the video that people here have decided was a real threat to the woman.
