Memorial Day Weekend Corona Virus Thread
So I really want everyone’s thoughts on this. For the past 2 days, I’ve been laid out flat with something. It started on Thursday with a temp of 99.8 (high for me), horrible headache, body aches and generally feeling like crap. It progressed to nausea and complete exhaustion later in the day. Overnight was much of the same. I woke up in the middle of the night feeling positively weird. Took more Tylenol and went to the bathroom. While I was in there, I grabbed a bottle of perfume and sprayed it. I couldn’t smell anything, so I was convinced I had Covid.
Yesterday was the worst. Horrible stomach acid, intestinal cramping, body aches, headache, extreme fatigue, chills. I’ve never had that combination of symptoms. It felt like a combination of bad acid reflux, sinus headache, the flu and a horrible hangover all at the same time. But no cough or upper or lower respiratory symptoms at all.
For those 2 days, I took all of my covid stuff I had bought. I forced myself to drink and eat soup (zero appetite). This morning I woke up and I feel great. Perfectly back to normal. I was going to get tested this weekend if I can, and now I feel silly.
My husband says it was just another bug. Since you all know much more about this than he does, what do you think? I’m thinking he’s probably right. If it was Covid, I wouldn’t be feeling so great after just 2 days. This stuff just doesn’t disappear over night.
Thanks so much for your thoughts. I am with my 85 year old mom constantly since she doesn’t drive, and I obviously don’t want her getting this.
Yes, it's gone very well except for the covid... sigh. Students and staff should take their temp before leaving home in the morning. The school should take temps out on the sidewalk before allowing anyone inside. Better yet, do virtual schooling.
Perhaps get an antibody test.
Don’t count on antibodies hanging around very long to ward off a second bout as testing shows they die off in a couple months.
Where did you go that you might have caught it?
The only place I’ve been is to the grocery store and Walmart one time. Of course my husband works with the public every day and it’s possible he brought it home, but he’s shown no symptoms at all. I know some people don’t.
It might have been it, it might have been another bug...
Can you wait 7 days to be around your mom?
Can she take any of the covid stuff you took?
Has her D3 been tested lately? little old ladies usually have looooooow levels.
Hopefully it was just a bug, but given the loss of smell, you may have cv and was lucky enough to fight it off. Did your sense of smell come back? Cough is actually not one of the more predominate early symptoms, I think that one only occurs if its attacking the lungs, but as we know, it can attack the digestive system, kidneys and the CNS which give a whole other group of symptoms.
If it were me, I would keep up a treatment protocol as if I still had it, even if I felt great, just because it seems it can lurk in the body to reappear later as weve been reading. Vit C, zinc, quercertin, Vit d3, lots of water. Keep an eye on O2 levels as well.
Prayers for you, that it turns out to be nothing. As an aside, my husband has had a lot of allergy symptoms and joint pain and he is convinced its allergies but I wish I could get him to take quercertin. He is on Keto and his joint pain comes with eating either cheese or nuts. Hes trying to figure it out.
I am still struggling with the dust from the Sahara dust that came through GA. We have been replacing filters weekly and still have a layer of thick black dust on everything after a few days of dusting. I am crazy allergic to it. I have never had allergies in my life. Its driving me crazy!
My 20-something son has been exposed to known cases 3 different times now and even works in a hospital setting up Covid isolation rooms. At the hospital he wears Tyvek suits, but he goes everywhere and does everything like normal. I am convinced he is one who just fights it off or has zero symptoms. He is outside every chance he gets and dips, so the combo of Vit D and nicotine may be protective for him. He does not come around us knowing he could be a carrier.
I wish we knew more about the genetic component of this virus. It is crazy how it can sweep through some families causing severe illness in siblings, parents, kids, and in the next family its just sniffles, seems we should know more about this by now.
Thanks guys, I plan to avoid my mom until next weekend just in case. My sister took her grocery shopping yesterday, so she’s good, if not bored. I gave her all of the stuff I’ve been taking months ago, so she should be good there. She’s taking vit D daily too.
And I’ll continue to do what I’ve been doing, even though I’m feeling better. My sense of smell is returning but it was flat out gone for 2 days. Will continue to monitor!
Your hubby may have an issue with histamine. Look into histamine intolerance syndrome. Largely can be controlled with diet.
I’ve got this but it’s gone further into mast cell activation syndrome.
Ill mention this to him. I have this for sure and it ties into my IBS.

RE-covid thoughts
That’s great that you bounced back so fast.
Sounds more like cold or garden variety flu but i’d recommend test due the smell issue.I have similar concerns due to caregiving for a 94yo mom. I can usually knock out those quickly like others with vit C,Zinc,D3 aspirin for fever or ibuprofen for body ache. I’m curious what your regimen was if you don’t mind sharing?

That is odd, wonder if they were using contaminated tests from China, or the early ones from the CDC
