More than 4,300 recovering coronavirus patients were sent to New York's already vulnerable nursing homes.
The state directive, which said nursing homes could not refuse to accept patients from hospitals who had been diagnosed with COVID-19, was issued on March 25.
It was ultimately scrapped amid widespread criticism that it was accelerating the nation's deadliest outbreak.
The Associated Press compiled its own tally to find out how many coronavirus patients were discharged from hospitals to nursing homes after New York's Department of Health and Mental Hygiene declined to release its internal survey conducted two weeks ago.

How we know it was coldly calculating: In NYS’s new budget, signed in early April, contained legislation that protected nursing homes from both civil AND criminal liability.
I’m thinking Cuomo and the legislature wanted to make certain discovery wouldn’t be an issue.
Nobody went to court.

I sent this back to a woman who lost her mother in a NJ nursing home.
BTW, some Medicaid clients are cheaper than others. If NYS wants people on Medicaid all it has to do is open the door to young illegals who cost a heckuva lot less than seniors in the last year or so of their lives. Some Medicaid patients NYS clearly doesn’t want.
It is murder. These governors belong in prison. They knew as well as the Nazis who filled Concentration Camps.
Those governors knew exactly what they were doing. They should be in prison.
