Joe Biden has longed to win the White House for more than three decades. If he finally makes it there after Novembers election, hes already talking about leaving.
In an effort to ease concerns about his age, the 77-year-old presumptive Democratic nominee has said he wouldnt seek re-election if his mental or physical health declined. He has also referred to himself as a transition candidate, acting as a bridge to a younger generation of leadership. [ ]
[T]he question of his long-term prospects looms over his candidacy, especially as he considers his options for vice president.
While someone like Elizabeth Warren could broaden Bidens appeal among progressives, the 70-year-old Massachusetts senator wouldnt be the face of a new generation many in the party are seeking. That might be an advantage for younger contenders, such as California Sen. Kamala Harris, 55, or Minnesota Sen. Amy Klobuchar, 59.
Its an awkward dynamic for Biden, whose lead in the Democratic primary coincided with the onset of a pandemic, making it harder to establish himself as the partys unquestioned leader. He can ill afford chatter about who might succeed him when he still faces a competitive race against President Donald Trump in the fall.

“The article is ridiculous in that it entertains in a serious tone the idea of Joe Biden running in 2024”
indeed ... in fact the whole article is a totally ridiculous collection of speculative tangents, akin to counting the grandchicks and greatgrandchicks of the eggs in a basket before they hatch ...
“IF he were to win,”
I know you said “IF”, but...
Joe Biden Has ZERO, that’s *****ZERO***** chance of EVER becoming president.
I doubt that he will even be the nominee, unless the Democrats finally realize that there is NOTHING they can do to stop the Trump Juggernaut, and concede the 2020 election (that would be a Joe Biden nomination) and start preparing for 2024.
Probably the smart move since they really have no one else and it’s almost too late to switch now. (Maybe it is too late)
How long he will serve as what? The nominee?
So far, hes not even the nominee. My guess is the plan is to replace him at the convention with a governor (Newsom or Cuomo), with a Republican VP, in a media extravaganza resulting in two candidates who have never been seriously challenged and for whom there is no oppo research.
If not at the convention, he will be out by October 20 at the latest. The key is going to be the surprise candidate - there are a lot of options.
At that point, consumer confidence nose dives, the stock market tanks to 9,000, and the red states secede including red counties in blue states.
Oh happy day. It’s the Asspress.
If anything stops the Trump 'juggernaut' it will be a wrecked economy, 15% to 20% unemployment, a $6 trillion 2020 deficit, and a Covid-19 resurgence. Biden will just be the beneficiary.
So to balance a senile white man with no executive experience, put on the ticket a black woman with no executive experience?
(I haven't checked on Demings' biography to see what she might have done before being elected to Congress.)
Biden could reassure the country that he will bring back the magical Obama years by promising that Valerie Jarrett will be his #1 advisor if he is elected.
His mental state has declined and is declining further. By November his condition will be even more obvious.
You have too little faith in the Democrat vote counting machines in the big cities in each state. They will be up and running full tilt this year. AND there will be more states with mail-in voting which is the Democrat ideal for stealing votes.
Not really. I know the RATs would vote for an orange juice can if it was on the ballot.
