The nationally-watched special election in Californias 25th congressional district ended in a GOP victory on Tuesday night. The race has not been called thus far, but Republican Mike Garcia holds a substantial lead over Democrat Christy Smith in the race for disgraced former Congresswoman Katie Hill's seat.
Hillary Clinton also won the district by +6 in 2016.
Leading up to the election, the nonpartisan Cook Political Report deemed the race as a toss-up. Garcia's victory would represent the first GOP flip of a congressional seat in California since 1998.

As we watch another 10 point lead vanish........
Gotta make hay while the sun shines. Harvest time.
Quick, we need the next mail trove of ballots!
If mail-in voting means we don’t know the results for a week or so, I can’t imagine how it will be implemented.
They will steal it...
Oddly enough, the Hillary vote from 2016 is now a presumptive absolute in fraud calculations. The tricky part for democrats is to steal elections without exceeding the number of actual adult populations in the districts and getting caught.
The President needs to send federal observers there ASAP
Was Katie Hill behind in the count as well until the started counting mail in ballots?
Yea, the Rats will “find” enough ballots to win.
she is too busy making porn vids in San Fernando Valley
“The tricky part for democrats is to steal elections without exceeding the number of actual adult populations in the districts and getting caught.”
That means they have to disappear enough republican votes so that it nets out.
Does anyone for one second believe this race wouldn’t already be called if the roles were reversed?
Let the harvesting begin!
I remember 2016. How many Republicans ‘won’ on election night in CA only to ‘lose’ to the ‘Rat candidate a week later after the ballot harvesting had been completed?
Is this Garcia guy going to have to run again in November?
Let’s see how many ballots postmarked by yesterday, show up by Friday.
Yes.
I heard Garcia interviewed yesterday, and yes, he will have to run again in November. This election is only to fill the remainder of Hill’s term.
As we watch another 10 point lead vanish........
That’s about right in California and other states. A 10 point Republican lead is too close to call.
