I’ve 25 nice acres available in Oldtown.
He should have given a junkie a hot dose and a dirty needle.
They’d give him a medal.
In a city where the DA won’t prosecute drug dealing and attacks on tourists - well the tourism of Seattle is just about gone; nobody wants to come here and be attacked and have to dodge excrement on city street and no law protection what so ever.
Citizens are not outsiders.
The hell they aren’t. Doesn’t matter what job you have, outside the “company” are outsiders. ALWAYS. It’s a basic social structure.
Thanks PROCON.
How about the citizens of Washington replace their fraud of a Governor Inslee with this fine cop?!?!?
This isn't a 1A issue. Contract Law supersedes his right to speech when he is representing while in uniform and clearly in a department vehicle.
All he had to do was make the video at home and out of uniform, and he'd be fine.
A person does not give up their constitutional right to free speech just because he is puic employee.
Don’t argue with me, argue with the U.S. Supreme Court.
I know the guy. Good man. I know the Chief. Also a good man. I work for the organization, and know they monitor social media, hence my reluctance to say much.
I dont know all of the internal or external politics. Im just sad to see this all blow up to the level it has.
I have a lot of respect for Greg for standing on his principles.
No you don’t. But you air your employer’s dirty laundry in public, you usually get fired. Public employee, private employee, that’s just how it goes.
He should sue. This is an open-and-shut case.
There's no doubt in my mind that the termination order came from Olympia.
Yeah, the guy is a real patriot, I'm sure he'll rebound just fine.
“While I agree with him Godfather rule #1 still applies: never disagree with family in front of outsiders.”
His family is the US citizen and followers of the constitution. The tyrants and lackeys locking up people for walking down the beach are the outsiders.
No kidding, that was truly this man’s mindset.
THIS is why so often you see bad cops get away with BS.
The good guys get punished for doing the right thing.
The founders would have gathered at Concord bridge again sometime between 1906 and 1916... T.R., Wilson, and F.D.R. placed the lid on the casket and began driving in the nails...
Bush and obungghole finished the job...

Nope. Look at what he said. That he has seen some officers in other place violating the law. True.
That he has been in combat zones where war breaks down the police/citizen relationship. True.
That officers have a duty to not obey an illegal order. Also true, proven at Nuremberg.
He said that police operate with the consent of a far larger armed entity, the people. And that if they lose that consent it would not go well for the police. True again.
He said nothing to encourage law breaking or violence. He begged for fidelity to the constitution and its laws.
He showed deep respect for the concept of policing.
You are forgetting, his jury won’t be made of cops and police supervisors. It will be made of those he honored with his speech.
No it isn’t. Really people. Think it through. If you go an put something on social media that bad mouths your entire industry, any industry, and it goes viral with hundreds of thousands of view, you’re gonna get fired. That’s how jobs work. I know we like to think of “public servants” as some magical thing that’s somehow different than every other job in the country, but it isn’t. When push comes to shove police forces are companies, with many of the same basic corporate rules as every other company. Companies that are unionized no less, meaning both the company and the union don’t want anybody slagging the whole industry in public. Same thing would have happened if he was in the TV industry, software, furniture making. Put a 10 minute video out there talking about how awful your industry is, watch it go viral, and you get fired.
Me too. He is a brave, noble man. May God bless, watch over, and provide for him and his family.
Citizens have the authority, cops are agents who snap to when told.
