This video was posted on the twitter account of Ahmaud Arbery's attorney, Lee Merritt. It shows Arbery stopping in front of the home. He then looks around and walks into the home, which is under construction. He walks out of the home and into the garage. He is in the house for at least 60 to 90 seconds. He then BOLTS out the front entrance of the house like Jesse Owens.
Well, that deserves getting shot dead in the street.
Case closed.

“St. Jogger”
No, no. The official name is: The Gentle Jogger
Perhaps I should trademark it? LOL.
So call the cops. Dont shoot him.
That’s the exact definition of a “citizen’s arrest” - you have to be right there and see the crime happen to make the arrest legal.
That being said, cops actively discourage people NOT to make citizen’s arrests, as it can go wrong in a hurry ... what if the burglar knew kung-fu or MMA moves?
thank you for the details. I wonder if the video of him ‘jogging’ and the meeting up with the men, is doctored. I think the race baiting attorneys edited that one too and we have not seen the entire thing.
According to a letter by the DA of Waycross (on another FR thread today), the first wound the decedent received was from a shotgun blast through his hand. That strongly indicates that he had grabbed the end of the barrel and was trying to wrest the shotgun away from the shooter. I am guessing his prints and some of his blood has been found on the end of the barrel.
Hmmm. Pretty sure that wasn’t what the poster had in mind.
That’s my take on it too.
You still cant confront someone in the street with a gun. Your house? Yes. Public street? Not likely. Father and son are still guilty and probably going to jail.
My house was repeatedly vandalized and my property was taken on several occasions. Neighbors came to my house and said that they spotted the vehicle and had video proof. They called the police.
I had three of the perps trapped in a drainage culvert and held them at gunpoint. I knew the police were on the way, but how long was it going to take? Seconds, minutes after a few donut breaks. I needed to protect my family and my house right away.
The father of one of the perps thanked me for not shooting and killing his son.
I’m sorry that you experienced that.
What would you have done if one of them had started to run away?
Um, no. The appliances never go in until there are locks on the doors and windows. In most cases, the roofing, siding and trim are on shortly after the framing inspection. The house inside, for all you know, may be nothing but framing with maybe the rough-ins.
As far as wandering in to a house under construction, we used to put up with it all the time when the neighbors curiosity would get the best of them. And the contracted buyers were also a problem when they would come in at night and try to run wires for electronics, security systems, etc... before the sheetrock goes up. We have even had buyers coming in at night with tape measures to make sure we weren’t “getting away with anything” and video recorders to point out any perceived flaws in construction. Hell, I even had a Indian couple who put a box full of religious crap in a dark corner of the crawl space to “bless” the house as it’s constructed. They were a little upset (to say the least) when they found one of the contractors had taken a dump in their box.
Also, To others observations, I didn’t see anybody fly out of the house like Jesse Owens. Bottom line, he emerged from the house with nothing in his arms or under his shirt and he proceeded on down the road. In this particular case, he did not break any laws and certainly didn’t need to be confronted by armed Billy Badass citizens. Dad should have known better.
But that's not what happened.
The decedent after what appears to be him casing a private home under construction, when the neighbors get wise, he runs 60++ feet right at a neighbor holding a shotgun, physically attacks him and physically attempts to disarm the neighbor.
Get it right.
What would you have done if one of them had started to run away?
My dogs would have got them and I had them pinned up so that they were sitting in freezing cold water and had no change to escape.
Does someone happen to know the street name this occured on?
I see the door and windows in the house. Garage door up? or not there...can’t tell.
Have they arrested any of the lynch mob who are making death threats against the videographer?
Are they going to make death threats against the homeowner who’s security camera caught the treaspass?
Were your dogs or the perps in freezing water :-)
Whatever. The two under current consideration don’t appear to have thought things out very well, and I still think it’s a bad idea to promote the idea that everybody and his son should go out with guns and ‘make the world right.’ More often than not, it’s the good guy in the story who suffers most, not the bad guy.
They are trying to make the case that he didn’t do anything “illegal” and didn’t appear to have taken any items.
Apparently this was a detour on his jog and he bolted to make up for lost time.
Last I remember, burglary is not a capital offense...
These dummies perhaps could have followed him and called the police, but confronting someone with a weapon who is no direct danger to you (nor had anything to do with your own property) is asking for trouble.
