Trump's Director of National Intelligence nominee will speak the truth to power.
If confirmed as Director of National Intelligence, Texas Republican John Ratcliffe said this week, he would not let any outside influence, impact or alter intelligence. His loyalty would be to the Constitution and rule of law and Ratcliffe would speak the truth to power. As Ratcliffe knows, the intelligence community has been protecting the powerful from the truth, but change is in the wind.
On May 4, acting DNI Richard Grenell informed Congress that some 53 transcripts of interviews were declassified, redacted and ready for release. These include interviews with former DNI James Clapper, Loretta Lynch, Samantha Power, Andrew McCabe, Susan Rice, Ben Rhodes, and John Podesta. As Fox News reports, none of the 53 witnesses could provide evidence of collusion between Trump and Russia.
Intelligence Committee boss Adam Schiff repeatedly claimed he had direct evidence of collusion and sought to block release of the transcripts. Those will be a welcome addition to the FBI notes revealing the set-up against President Trumps National Security Advisor Michael Flynn. As Andrew McCarthy explains, the real quarry was Trump, target of the Crossfire Hurricane operation to remove him from office. The FBIs Peter Strzok was a key player but others in them intelligence community have escaped the scrutiny they deserve.
James Clapper, now holding forth on CNN, was famous for proclaiming the Muslim Brotherhood a secular organization. NBC mouthpiece John Brennan is on record that in 1976 he voted for the Stalinist Gus Hall, presidential candidate of the Soviet-backed Communist Party USA. No government agency should have let Brennan in the door, but the CIA duly brought him aboard in 1980.
In 1981 Brennan joined the CIAs Directorate of Intelligence and he rose through the ranks before POTUS 44 tapped him for Director in 2013. In 2014, Brennans CIA hacked the computers of the Senate Intelligence Committee, an operation not exactly in the CIAs job description. Brennan stepped down in January 2017 but remained a strident critic of president Trump.
When the full extent of your venality, moral turpitude, and political corruption becomes known, Brennan tweeted after the firing of Andrew McCabe, you will take your rightful place as a disgraced demagogue in the dustbin of history. Brennan was confident the coup would succeed and, in the Washington Post, the former CIA boss accused Trump of lying routinely to the American people without compunction, intentionally fueling divisions in our country and actively working to degrade the imperfect but critical institutions that serve us.
After the president revoked Brennans security clearance, the NBC pundit charged that Trump was trying to scare his critics into silence. With Brennan at the bullhorn, the coup attempt actually gained momentum. Chief inquisitor Robert Mueller found no collusion, but the deep state players quickly deployed the Ukraine hoax.
After that venture proved a bust, President Trump took action by firing Intelligence Community Inspector General Michael Atkinson, who ratted to Schiff about Trumps call with Volodymyr Zelensky. That led to the impeachment inquiry, which also failed to remove Trump from office. The coup attempt needs a thorough investigation, and the fallout could extend far into the future. Consider the experience in Canada.
In 1952, at the nadir of Soviet anti-Semitism, Pierre Trudeau participated in a Stalinist propaganda event in the USSR. As Prime Minister from 1968 to 1979, and again from 1980 to 1984, Trudeau praised Communist dictators such as Fidel Castro, alienated the United States and other allies, and as even David Frum noted, left Canada deeply divided and its economy in shambles.
Canadas RCMP Security Service had compiled a dossier on Trudeau and transferred the files to the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS), founded in 1984. In 1989, the CSIS destroyed the Trudeau files, slated to become part of the national archives in 2020, a full 20 years after Pierre Trudeaus death. That spares son Justin from dealing with the truth about his pro-Communist father.
From 2008 to 2016, the President of the United States was the former Barry Soetoro, whose official biographer David Garrow calls him a composite character in the historical fiction of Dreams from My Father. The authors beloved Frank, is the Communist Frank Marshall Davis, whose pro-Soviet activism earned a place on the FBIs security index.
The composite character president transformed America by rigging the upper reaches of the deep state in favor of his chosen successor, Hillary Clinton, and against candidate and President Donald Trump. The Democrat coup clan has been counting on deep state allies to keep everything safely covered up, but the truth is now beginning to emerge.
By speaking the truth to power, John Ratcliffe could play a key role in further revelations. As Axios reports, Senate Intelligence Chairman Richard Burr wants to bring Ratcliffes nomination to a committee vote next week, followed by a full Senate vote. In the meantime, the people have plenty to ponder.
Had Hillary Clinton prevailed in 2016, none of the deep state malfeasance would have come to light. If Joe Biden or some other Democrat captures the White House on November 3, all key investigations are certain to cease and crucial files could be destroyed, in the style of Hillarys emails. As President Trump says, well have to wait and see what happens.

If the GOP had not cooperated with the usurpation we wouldn’t be here.
Because they cooperated with the usurpation there’s no chance any of these people are prosecuted.

Until we see handcuffs and indictments it’s all political BS. Start locking these bastards up and I’ll start believing we have a government again.
And don’t tell me “these things take time.” It’s been three damn years already and NOTHING has happened.

If Sen. Richard Burr is pushing John Ratcliffe for DNI, I HIGHLY DOUBT that he will be transparent and "speaking truth to power".
The likes of Richard Burr and company are what we got out of the Senate confirmation - Chris Wray of the FIBs. This guy who claimed that the problems at the FBI was a result of "training gaps", and not criminal mischief.
We probably should keep the current "Acting DNI". He does less acting and more doing.

First order of business if GOP regains the House in 2020 is to nullify President Trump’s impeachment. Second order of business is arrest Barney Google and Nancy Antoinette for conspiracy to overthrow the presidency.
After that, find a remote island, without means of communication or transportation, for the coup leaders.

It is extremely rare for any government to ever prosecute itself for its own corruption.
I am encouraged by the withdrawal of charges against Flynn.
It could be the beginning... or it could be the end (of the quest for justice).
A lot depends on whether or not Trump is re-elected.

An interesting dynamic unfolds tomorrow as the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence (SSCI) will be holding the confirmation hearing for President Trump’s nominee, John Ratcliffe. As a result of earlier political moves the SSCI is between a rock and a hard place.
The SSCI is the drain-plug in the swamp. They use their corrupt oversight power and confirmation authority to control the intelligence apparatus (swamp guards) and ensure that no executive branch officer can disrupt or disclose their corrupt Senate schemes.
President Trump nominated Representative John Ratcliffe, an intelligence community reformer, for the position of Director of National Intelligence (DNI). The SSCI previously rejected Ratcliffe because his existence is adverse to their interests. However, in response Trump installed honey badger Richard “Ric” Grenell as the acting DNI.
The SSCI hates Grennel with the ferocity of a thousand supernovas because Grenell doesn’t give a f**k about their swamp life. Better yet, Grenell smacks them around publicly on Twitter whenever the SSCI dispatch the orcs from the deep swamp intelligence apparatus. Every time orcs poke their heads out of the DC labyrinth, Grenell smacks them with a billion mega-watt sunlight hammer. They shriek and retreat to the dungeon.
The good news for the SSCI is that Grenell can only stay in the ‘acting’ role until September of this year. However, the bad news is if the SSCI rejects John Ratcliffe then Ric Grenell gets another year to antagonize the corrupt senators, swing the sunlight hammer & expose the darkest secrets of their beloved swamp. {{Grumble – Grumble}}
As a result President Trump has pinned the SSCI into the corner of their cave. If the SSCI rejects Ratcliffe, they are stuck with Grenell; and Ric really is a guy who doesn’t give a f**k about the SSCI’s indulgent self-interest and thirst for power.
As Senator Angus King said: “If we vote down Ratcliffe, we’re stuck with Grenell.”
[Insert Angus sad face here]
Too darned funny.
New York Times -President Trump first picked Representative John Ratcliffe of Texas to be the nation’s intelligence chief last summer, but resistance in the Republican Senate was so firm that Mr. Ratcliffe’s name was withdrawn before his nomination ever became official.
Eight months later, Mr. Ratcliffe is back. On Tuesday, he will step before many of those same lawmakers on the Senate Intelligence Committee for a confirmation hearing to be the director of national intelligence — this time as a full-fledged nominee whose prospects have vastly improved as Republican opposition has softened.
[…] The reversal in fortune has been remarkable, even by the standards of Trump-era Washington. It arguably has as much to do with Richard Grenell, the acting director of national intelligence, as it does with Mr. Ratcliffe, officials involved in the confirmation process said.
Key Republican senators including Richard M. Burr of North Carolina, the Intelligence Committee chairman, are uneasy about Mr. Grenell, an aggressive defender of the president who has moved to reshape the office while making liberal use of his Twitter account to spar with the news media and Democrats. (Mr. Grenell also continues to serve as the ambassador to Germany.)
[…] Mr. Ratcliffe will say that depoliticizing the intelligence agencies would be one of his top priorities as director — a promise that could alarm Democrats who see such comments as a euphemism for pulling the agencies closer to Mr. Trump’s views.
[…] Senator Mark Warner of Virginia, the panel’s top Democrat, said he would give Mr. Ratcliffe a respectful hearing but made clear he viewed him as part of a broader attempt by Mr. Trump to politicize the nation’s intelligence apparatus.
[…] The White House has made clear the only alternative to Mr. Ratcliffe is Mr. Grenell, the acting director, who can continue in the role through September, although his term would be extended further if the Senate rejects Mr. Ratcliffe.
Even on an interim basis, Mr. Grenell has declared that he is “not a seat warmer” and set about remaking the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, beginning a review aimed at shrinking the office, replacing the leader of the National Counterterrorism Center and studying whether to reduce intelligence sharing with countries that criminalize homosexuality.
Senators acknowledge that the vote could come down to their preference between the two men.
“The fellow that is the acting is just as partisan, if not more so than Congressman Ratcliffe,” Mr. King said. “If we vote down the congressman, we are still left with a partisan in the position. In effect, we are choosing between Grenell and Ratcliffe.” (read more)
