The availability of a vaccine for the novel coronavirus will likely play a key role in determining when Americans can return to life as usual. Dr. Anthony Fauci, head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, on April 30 announced that a vaccine could even be available by January 2021.
Whether a vaccine can end this pandemic successfully, however, depends on more than its effectiveness at providing immunity against the virus, or how quickly it can be produced in mass quantities. Americans also must choose to receive the vaccine.
According to some estimates, 50% to 70% of Americans would need to develop immunity to COVID-19 either naturally, or via a vaccine in order to thwart the spread of the virus. If these estimates are correct, that could mean that nearly twice as many Americans would need to elect to receive a COVID-19 vaccine than those who currently opt to be vaccinated against seasonal influenza. Just 37% of American adults did so in 2017-2018, even in the midst of a historically severe flu season.
Making matters more complicated is the possibility that people who hold skeptical views about vaccine safety sometimes referred to as "anti-vaxxers" will not opt to receive the coronavirus vaccine. According to some estimates, about one-fifth to two-fifths of Americans express reservations about vaccine safety. If most of these individuals forego receiving a COVID-19 vaccine, they could potentially jeopardize the recovery process.
One of us is a doctoral candidate, and the other is a professor, and we both study vaccine resistance. We conducted a study, which is currently undergoing peer review, where we estimate the number of Americans who report being willing to receive a COVID-19 vaccine, once it becomes available. We also investigate the reasons some Americans might refuse the vaccine.

“Assuming that having it gives you immunity.”
if it doesn’t, then neither will a vaccine ...
The flu vaccine is only about 50% successful
... on a good year!
if it doesnt, then neither will a vaccine ...

We have a winner.

I got talked into the vaccine for the Hong Kong Flu.
I then got knowed down with that flu for 11 days....
Neighbor came by every evening to give me supper, and to be there so I could take a short shower.
Never got talked into any vaccines since.
I have absolutely NO INTENTION of getting this vaccine.
Smallpox, and the scar was minimal.....no big deal.
Just a sly way to give every person a number and a means to track and quarantine free people. No vaccine and the Beast (Read: Government) will shut down your ability to use your credit card to buy and sell.
F vaccines.............THEY KILL!
Educate yourself and KNOW what they are made of
Thanks.
I never take the flu shot and won’t take any vaccine they come up with, but I respect others choosing to take it voluntarily.
That’s right. Hitler and Stalin would congratulate these evil bastards.
I’ll pass, thanks. I don’t get the flu shot and haven’t had a the flu for decades. I’ll take my chances with the naturally occurring bug.
Carson on it;
Many vaccines were given in the rear end back then.

Three weeks after the the swine flu vaccination efforts were discontinued and just 13 days before the end of Fords presidency, Carson appeared in a sketch as his long-running clairvoyant character, Carnac the Magnificent. As Carnac, Carson would hold up sealed envelopes to his forehead and guess the answer to questions written on slips of paper within.
On the night of Jan. 7, 1977, Carson guessed, the swine flu vaccine. The question? Name a cure for which there is no known disease.

This is how totalitarian control starts. America is not about the collective. It is about individual inalienable rights.
Just before that he posits that it’s possibly 700,000 people could be negatively affected. This is the man promoting it.
And we aren’t supposed to be skeptical of the safety of the human race since he wants every man woman and child around the world to get it?
Gates was public with a requirement of a digital record of “compliance” for taking the vaccine. But supposedly it has been edited out of some versions of his TED talk from 2018.
Dr. Sivana wrote: “Then a vaccine will also be ineffective, unless they “guess” every year like they do with the flu viruses. Even if the virus mutates, if you have beaten it already, your body is more likely to be able to deal with it than if you have never had the unmutated version.”
More likely the effectiveness will vary just as with the common flu vaccine. That’s still no reason to avoid taking the vaccine.
The degree of immunity towards a mutated virus will depend upon the degree of mutation. Still no reason not to take the vaccine.
Anti-vaxxers are a strange cult.
the No THanks vaccine.
Edited out because they jumped the gun and don’t want people to catch onto what they’re up to. Gradualism/the frog in the pot is their game and it cannot have any deviations.
Thanks.

Some of us were alive in the 1950s and remember SV40 contamination of the polio vaccination. Fortunately, I got my last polio shot the year before. Everyone that got the shot at school the year that SV40 was in it got sick. My class mates were nauseous and throwing up all afternoon.

SV40 stands for Simian Virus 40. SV40 was the 40th virus found in rhesus monkey kidney cells when these cells were used to make the polio vaccine. This virus contaminated both the Inactivated Polio Vaccine (IPV) created by Dr. Jonas Salk and the Oral or Live Polio Vaccine (OPV) created by Dr. Albert Sabin.
I’ll be waiting to see what the results are first. After a couple of years, I might take it if there’s no problems. I don’t take the flu shot-I am selective about which vaccines I will take—I’m not an anti-vax —I’m a cautious vax.
