From the early days of the Trump administration, Stephen Miller, the presidents chief adviser on immigration, has repeatedly tried to use an obscure law designed to protect the nation from diseases overseas as a way to tighten the borders.

When vast caravans of migrants surged toward the border in 2018, Miller looked for evidence that they carried illnesses. He asked for updates on U.S. communities that received migrants to see if new disease was spreading there.
That was his job

From an early age, my father used snow as a way to get me to shovel the walk.

Do we have two people at SFgate that can write about the homeless vulgarity in San Francisco?

Talk about a misleading headline. I thought Trump was going to spread the Bat Flu on the border.

TB, Hantavirus and Bunonic Plague actually have reentered the country across our southern border.

What if America had another civil war without the war? What exactly are we going through?

So Trump shut down immigration too early in order to prevent a pandemic such as the coronavirus. I thought the talking heads were stating that he was not proactive early enough.

Stephen Miller, the presidents chief adviser on immigration, has repeatedly tried to use an obscure law designed to protect the nation from diseases overseas as a way to tighten the borders. Is he available to run for CIC in 2024?
To: artichokegrower
Heck - so did I, and anyone with a concern about America.
Third-world hordes illegally crossing our borders without any health checks (or shots) - and diseases that had once been thought eliminated (TB, measles, polio-like diseases, etc) 'inexplicably' popping up in the 'sanctuary' states. There is a reason why Nations that want to remain in existence require legal immigration - and not illegal invasions.

We are suffocating our economy because of a virus that slipped in from another country and they choose this time to criticize Stephen Miller for keeping his eyes open for diseases coming in from other countries?
Okay, whatever.

Stephen Miller is a hero.

To be a legal immigrant a person must have all required vaccinations.
Why do those who slither across the border have exemptions?

Dr. Michael Savage has a degree in epidemiology and repeatedly warned that open borders leave America open to quick spread of various diseases.
No one does communicable disease checking of aliens who run across the border’s weak link areas and then go to various US cities.
Human waste and garbage on the sidewalks and lawns by open derelict settlement also spread diseases that were thought to be absent in the USA.
So, ahead of the curve makes someone wrong like Mr. Miller? Why?

Because they carry TB, measles, typhus, and lots of other Turd world country diseases Yes. And the illegals are frequently transported to far distant American cities where the sick children sit next to well ones in school classes.

That was his job And the right thing to do! Of course it's the ultra liberal San Francisco Chronicle, they must be absolutely tone deaf idiots to think the majority of Americans give a damn about illegal invaders when we have millions of Americans in dire straights due to the over-hyped Covid pandemic and the fascist response of too many governors.

Illegals that aren’t medically screened may carry disease?
That would be a pretty easy bet to make.
