A Texas park ranger cautioned a group about coronavirus social distancing - only to get pushed into a lake. A recording of the incident shows the Commons Ford Metropolitan Park ranger asking a group gathered on the docks of Lake Austin to disperse because people were not standing six feet apart. The group was unlawfully drinking and smoking in the public park, as well. Just after someone tells the ranger I got you, a man runs up and pushes the ranger into the water. The man fell in as well, but he managed to climb out first and flee. Brandon Hicks, 25, was identified by a number of witnesses as the man who pushed the ranger. Hicks was arrested and charged with attempted assault on a public servant a state felony and damaging the rangers emergency radio, according to court documents seen by FOX 7. Officials say the "intentional and reckless action" by Hicks could have caused the park ranger to hit his head as he fell, becoming unconscious in water deep enough for him to drown. Hicks was in jail Friday with bail set at $7,500. Austin police officer Justin Berry, who arrested Hicks, told the Statesman that people were quick to help the ranger and identify Hicks as the assailant. The patrons of the park actually came to the aid of the park ranger, Berry said. Several people came up to the ranger and apologized for the guys behavior. Thats the Austin we know, and thats the Austin we love.

I would suggest to any park rangers or police reading this forum that they just leave Americans alone and let them go about their business.
Take your boot off our necks or we will do it ourselves.
‘He was a park ranger doing his job.’
not really; he’s enforcing an order that has no logic in basis...if that’s his job, he needs something else to do...
‘He should get pushed in a lake?’
no; but since he wasn’t hurt, we can chuckle about his comeuppance at enforcing a ridiculous order...
‘How many alleged conservatives are this close to joining antifa?’
oy vey...
Well, I don’t believe it was a Strawman.
In both cases the person attacked was blindsided and physically attacked.
You assume the attacker in Paul’s case knew he would cause gross physical Injury to the Senator by tackling him. His Injuries were grave and will follow him throughout his lifetime.
Don’t know how that can be proven, just as the Moron in Texas would have no idea if his actions would cause great bodily injury to the Ranger. (I.E. my earlier The Amazing Kreskin comment)
Whatever. I never thought I would see FReepers justifying Antifa like actions against anyone, much less a Park Ranger.
Carry on. I’m sick of responding to this crap. Everyone here can go beat somebody up if it makes them feel better.
About 6 months ago, I had a g/son with hair like that, then he enlisted in the army. HA!
“He was a park ranger doing his job.”
So were the Nazi death camp guards. We shot and hung them. yes, I am equating these “police officers” to Nazi, both were violating the rights of the people under the lethal force of government.
Jace Pearce would have as well.
‘Because a law enforcement officer or state official was following the orders given to them?......’
lighten up; the cop in this situation has all the power, all the force of the state on his side...that he gets his walkie talkie wet while social distancing people is not a classic Greek tragedy...
... if you have a problem with an officer performing his duty, you take it to his superiors,...
.... and what do you do when his superiors, and the superiors of those superiors are part of the problem Einstein? The buck for enforcing illegal and anti-Constitutional laws and edicts has to stop somewhere, and when the legislatures and courts continue to violate the laws theyre sworn to uphold, something will eventually break.
When that happens, which side will you be on, law enforcement, for the sake of law enforcement, or on the side of the Constitution, and We the People?
I’ve been pushed in a lake, fully dressed (by my girl friend) You can bet her little ass went in the water too, when I got out.
I also learned a very good lesson. It’s extremely difficult for me to swim with shoes on.
If I ever have to g o in the water to rescue anyone, they will just have to wait until I get my shoes off.
I didnt realize so many people here would so easily want to physically
.... it you are mistaken. Those enjoying the day at the park were being threatened with potential violence. Thats how todays policing works. Police are equipped with guns and batons to project and inflict violence. Dont kid yourself.
Park rangers are tin badge dictators.
You should never call me an idiot. That was not a wise thing to do. You sound like you are so confident you can handle anyone and anything. It might be better if you settle down.
I leave it up to you and your merry band of vigilantes to do what you do best. Sit at home and talk tough on your computer then take your kids to soccer practice on the weekends.........LOL!
I clearly said the individual was wrong. He has been arrested and should be tried and convicted. To launch an ad hominem attack against someone you do not know is just not right. Let’s agree to disagree and go our separate ways.

.... I didnt realize there were so many boot-lickers here on FR. Hope you like the taste of shoe polish.
If people would just comply with the Government’s Mandates than the sooner they will allow us out of lockdown.
Yes.
Not the right way to do this.
The right way is safety first...
Shout “I’ll protect you from their vile cooties, Officer!”
Then carefully tackle the officer into the water,
protectively shielding them from any harm.
Immediately release the target while offering any needed
assistance and then hold out your hands for the handcuffs,
while saying “Sorry, Officer, it had to be done!”
“You were in danger of losing your senses and violating
people’s Constitutional Rights!”
“Are you better now?”
Start the GoFundMe for your defense.
Monetize the video you had your FRiend take of the event.
Rinse and Repeat.
(As fun as this might be, you probably should not try this
unless the officer is in on it with you...) ;-)
For those people who wonder why the small number of Nazis were able to control the people, here's a good example. Right after WWII we had a Ukrainian Jew move into our neighborhood. He told of how the Einsatzgruppen came into his village, lined everyone up, and had the town snitches walk up and down the line pointing out people and yelling "Das Jude! Das Jude!" The same mentality is in it's nascent form here.
History has been forgotten and will be relearned the hard way. " 'Arbeit Macht Frei'? Oh, that's Latin for 'You are safe here.' "
Really? I must have missed that part of the story.
