A Texas park ranger cautioned a group about coronavirus social distancing - only to get pushed into a lake. A recording of the incident shows the Commons Ford Metropolitan Park ranger asking a group gathered on the docks of Lake Austin to disperse because people were not standing six feet apart. The group was unlawfully drinking and smoking in the public park, as well. Just after someone tells the ranger I got you, a man runs up and pushes the ranger into the water. The man fell in as well, but he managed to climb out first and flee. Brandon Hicks, 25, was identified by a number of witnesses as the man who pushed the ranger. Hicks was arrested and charged with attempted assault on a public servant a state felony and damaging the rangers emergency radio, according to court documents seen by FOX 7. Officials say the "intentional and reckless action" by Hicks could have caused the park ranger to hit his head as he fell, becoming unconscious in water deep enough for him to drown. Hicks was in jail Friday with bail set at $7,500. Austin police officer Justin Berry, who arrested Hicks, told the Statesman that people were quick to help the ranger and identify Hicks as the assailant. The patrons of the park actually came to the aid of the park ranger, Berry said. Several people came up to the ranger and apologized for the guys behavior. Thats the Austin we know, and thats the Austin we love.

Then we suppose the guys at Bunker Hill were punks, too?
lol....oh, I’m stealing that.
LMAO. I immediately pictured a scene from The Little Rascals where the kids push an adult in a lake.
The guy who blindsided the Ranger is a cowardly Punk and he should rot in Jail.
Would people who obviously hate the Ranger feel better if the guy killed him? Sure sounds like it.
The Ranger is obviously a Nazi for telling people to follow the Guidelines. Now, that is sarcasm.
Just to be clear. I am one of those People who could be susceptible to the Kung Flu. I nearly died of Pneumonia about five years at age 62 after my last round of Chemotherapy to treat my Leukemia.
My Immune System crashed and the only thing that saved me was Plasma Infusion Therapy. Nothing else worked. If that failed, I was toast.
That being said, I still go out and about without a Face Mask. I am very careful, but I don't let fear rule my life. My Parents taught me to wash my hands and cover my nose an mouth when I coughed or sneezed. Didn't prevent me for getting Leukemia though.
We even know a guy who died for the Kung Flu. It was awful. He was a Nurse in his mid 60’s and had no chronic health issues. He treated Kung Flu Patients and was very careful, but somehow he caught it. They had his Wife Facetime him to tell him she loved him and say her goodbyes as he laid in Bed on a Ventilator dying.
I am certain that if you had lived back then you would have been busy writing pleading letters to the Kongs governors that he imposed on the Colonies.
Ye darkeners of counsel, who would make the property, lives, and religion of millions, depend on the evasive interpretations of musty parchments: who would send us to antiquated charters, of uncertain and contradictory meaning, to prove that the present generation are not bound to be victims to cruel and unforgiving despotism, tell us whether our pious and generous ancestors bequeathed to us the miserable privilege of having the rewards of our honest industry, the fruits of those fields which they purchased and bled for, wrested from us at the will of men over whom we have no check? Did they contract for us that, with folded arms, we should expect that justice and mercy from brutal and inflamed invaders which have been denied to our supplications at the foot of the throne? Were we to hear our character as a people ridiculed with indifference? Did they promise for us that our meekness and patience should be insulted: our coasts harassed: our towns demolished and plundered, and our wives and offspring exposed to nakedness, hunger and death, without our feeling the resentment of men, and exerting those powers of self-preservation which God has given us? No man had once a greater veneration for Englishmen than I entertained. They were dear to me as branches of the same parental trunk, and partakers of the same religion and laws; I still view with respect the remains of the constitution as I would a lifeless body which had once been animated by a great and heroic soul. But when I am roused by the din of arms: when I behold legions of foreign assassins, paid by Englishmen to imbrue their hands in our blood: when I tread over the uncoffined bones of my countrymen, neighbors and friends: when I see the locks of a venerable father torn by savage hands, and a feeble mother, clasping her infants to her bosom, and on her knees imploring their lives from her own slaves, whom Englishmen have allured to treachery and murder: when I behold my country, once the seat of industry, peace, and plenty, changed by Englishmen to a theatre of blood and misery, Heaven forgive me, if I cannot root out those passions which it has implanted in my bosom, and detest submission to a people who have either ceased to be human, or have not virtue enough to feel their own wretchedness and servitude.
"American Independence" Samuel Adams Speech - August 1, 1776
Me bad also.
If I were there, I might have cheered.
No I am not a fan of those terrorists. Rand Paul and Steve Scalice were not walking up to a group of Americans who were peaceably assembling and enjoying each others company and illegally ordering them to disperse under color of law.
Steve Scalise was playing a baseball game and Rand Paul was mowing his lawn and they were living their lives and minding their own business. What a stupid analogy. Try to do better.
Were you a Fan of the guy who attacked Senator Rand Paul? He was obviously upset at the Senator which he felt gave him the Right to physically attack him. Same goes for the Guy that Shot Steve Scalise.
.... punishment should fit the crime. A big difference between tackling /breaking someones ribs and pushing someone into the water and getting their radio wet.
ROFLMAO!!!! I don't see you or your merry band of armed militia coming to the rescue of anyone being bullied by their respective law enforcement agencies...just keyboard chest thumping.
But I digress, if you had read my comment when you were sober, there was nothing in it that approved of the actions of the park ranger but rather my comment to the poster and his advocating violence to the officer after he got off duty........
Since when has this website become an offshoot of Stormfront?
To prevent the ranger from hitting his head, he should wear his water wings to be on the safe side.
ROFLMAO!!!! I don’t see you or your merry band of armed militia coming to the rescue of anyone being bullied by their respective law enforcement agencies...
********
Yeh know, that’s a real good representation of the Brits expectations at that time too.
You weren't the only one.
Jailers need to give a trusted inmate a pair of sheep sheers to clean the guy up. Maybe put him in a restraint chair and clean up that neckbeard at the same time.
It being Austin. I’d bet it wasn’t tobacco that was being illegally smoked.
Reread the comment idiot, what kind of a response would you call for on a repeated attack on any individual? I swear to God, this site is getting weird......
In responding to an individual who advocated a repeated attack on an individual, I'm the kind of Conservative that supports the right to defend myself even if it means killing my attacker.....
Why do you have a problem with that?
me bad too.
Am I a bad person because I laughed at that headline?
Because a law enforcement officer or state official was following the orders given to them?......I can’t believe some of you on here.....
I can’t believe that those who have taken an oath to uphold the constitution, would actually participate in violating its sanctity with a sub-par “executive” order regarding the state’s right to violate the “right to assemble” at will.

... if he had his gun holstered, his magazines in the belt, and a ceramic bullet vest vest on... swimming would be a challenge... he could have drowned....
