New facts in the Michael Flynn case call into question the voluntariness of Flynns plea. Judge Sullivan should dismiss the charges to send a clear message: Outrageous prosecutorial coercion will not be tolerated.
The criminal case against Michael Flynn imploded Friday. First, the U.S. attorney for the District of Columbia provided Flynns legal team with documents discovered by an outside review of the Flynn prosecution documents withheld for years. Then, Sidney Powell, the attorney who took over Flynns defense nearly a year ago, filed new documents in the case, revealing a secret lawyers understanding not to prosecute Flynns son if the retired lieutenant general pleaded guilty.
The criminal case against Flynn began when President Donald Trumps former national security adviser pleaded guilty Dec. 1, 2017, to lying to the FBI about conversations hed had with the Russian ambassador following Trumps election. That case, initiated by the now-disbanded special counsels office, lingered for more than a year while Flynn cooperated with Robert Muellers team. An end seemed near when Flynn appeared before presiding federal Judge Emmet Sullivan on Dec. 18, 2018, for sentencing. But after Sullivan harshly rebuked Flynn and suggested Flynn might spend time in jail, the retired lieutenant general accepted the longtime judges offer to have the sentencing hearing continued until Flynns cooperation was complete.
Things remained static until Mueller announced on May 29, 2019, that the investigation was complete, and that the special counsels office had been closed. One week later, Flynn fired his Covington & Burling lawyers, Robert Kelner and Stephen Anthony, and replaced them with Powell.
Powell, a vocal critic of the Mueller investigation, filed a flurry of motions seeking, among other things, documents she maintained the government had improperly withheld; she also sought dismissal of the indictment for prosecutorial misconduct. Sullivan

I’l repeat my remarks from another thread, along with the observation that, if one were an operative for the Deep State, interested in discouraging the development of effective opposition to the Deep State, one of the strategies one might employ would be to constantly intone the drumbeat of defeatism and the hopelessness of opposing the Deep State among people who might be so inclined. I implore those who find themselves in the Counsellors of Despair and Giveuppedness camp to spend some of their (probably significant) mental ability on figuring out how we can help shape the world we live in, instead of criticizing those who try.
“And now the cascade of “Nevergonnahappenaholics”, tumbling out like the contents of Fibber McGee’s closet, or spewing like pea soup from Linda Blair’s possessed gullet. It’s really tiring.
The forces protecting the evil bastards who have been running this country into the ground are very formidable. It’s going to take a hell of a lot of guts to overcome it. A little encouragement wouldn’t hurt. The cost of failing to overcome it is, simply, everything. Absolutely everything. I wish just a couple of people around here would stop putting all their energy into cynicism, in the mistaken belief that lowered expectations will insulate them from disappointment. Put some of that energy into working to make a difference. Easy? You bet your life it isn’t easy. That’s why we need some help to get this done, not a crowd of people standing around on the sidelines, saying “he’ll never do that. It’ll never happen.” Find a way to help. Make a way to help. If we don’t get this job done, this country and everything it stands for is over.
Over.
And you will not feel any better because you can say “ I told you so.” “
MAGA!
Hey, throw a little Roger Stone into the mix, too

Not at all. I’m just tired of the breathless announcements that always begin the same way: Tomorrow... This week... Soon... And then, nothing.
If it hasn’t happened, why announce? What purpose does it serve?
If it’s going to happen, then don’t tip it: do it! Then announce it. Newspapers get their story either way. But if it _happened,_ there really is a reason to read it!
I’m tired of the repitition. Aren’t you, too?
I will believe it when it happens. Right now, it hasn’t happened.
Mueller carried uranium 1 to Russia for Iran,
ignored Epstein and got him off,
protect Clinton’s Operation Cocaine/Adrenochrome,
and for years attacked an ELECTED PRESIDENT.
that ignores his crimes in Boston.
There is no accountability in the USA.
NONE comparable to the crimes of the DOJ and FIB.
Sullivan should be impeached, then arrested.
Again, dismissing the case is not enough. Some former FBI officials need to be prosecuted and sent to prison.
Bitt; Thanks for posting this. Thanks for your comments L.R. I am looking forward to see how this plays out.
I am also disgusted with the sense of resignation and defeatist replies of some on this site to your post. I might as well be listening to loud drunks arguing about sports in a bar.
Maybe they could try to be more like you Bitt, be positive, keep on working, keep on informing, build people up rather than tearing them down.
Thank you!
I got such a bro crush on you.
Where does Gen Flynn go to get his reputation and his life savings back, after this huge miscarriage of justice??
My only regret will be that the compensation comes from taxpayers and liberals will never, ever admit he was wronged.

On the contrary. You’ve got it exactly backwards. If you were an “operative of the Deep State” you would do exactly what you are doing. Sunshine pumping and happy talk gives life blood to the ongoing coup against POTUS because it enables their endless run out the clock delaying tactics.
Maximum pressure must be applied against the coupists or nothing will be done. It’s that simple. Sometimes that pressure isn’t pretty (See Trump tweets) but POTUS wasn’t elected by being a doormat. Take a clue from Trump and stop excusing the do-nothing “Trump” DOJ.
Thanks for your comment, it makes a big difference. I have some considerable experience dealing with the Administrative State. It was a very difficult period, much harder than my experience in combat. The hardest thing that I ever did was dealing with a trusted subordinate who turned out to be a traitor, one of the worst in the history of the United States. In the end, he was convicted, sentenced to life in prison where he died a fate that he deserved. That whole saga took almost 10 years, even though we knew what he had done and we had the evidence. If he had been tried in the U.S. (he was tried in German court), it would taken another 5 years. All of this stuff takes too much time, I learned how to deal with it.
You just might be insane.
Maximum pressure must be applied against the coupists or nothing will be done.
Oh, is that what you're doing? Applying maximum pressure? With your incessant doom and gloom morale busting belly-aching?
President Trump needs our support and doesn't appreciate being called an incompetent idiot by you antibodies who accuse him of DOING NOTHING and hiring and suffering DERP STATE stooges, intent on 'running out the clock' and 'protecting the derp state'.
As much as you derps make noise about supporting Trump, you work against him with every foul utterance out of your cynical, superior, foul cake holes.
You are the Tories who refused to fight the British. You are the weak. You are American surrender monkeys. I wouldn't be surprised if you had French blood in you.
How dare you argue with a patriot who is encouraging people to stay strong and support this President on every front.
I gotta say. You make me sick to my stomach.
Peace and love.
Sidney Powell just stated on Hannity that decisions were made at the highest levels of the FBI to set up Gen. Flynn.
My son is 34, he has been in Australia for the past 11 years working. He came back 2 weeks ago on the last Quantas flight out of Sydney.
He is aghast at what he is seeing that is going on in our country. Hearing Powell’s statement above about the FBI. Watching The President of the United States being treated so disrespectfully and talked back to rudely by reporters. Hearing the most outlandish things made up and reported as fact about something Trump said. Seeing American’s arrested for being on a beach surfing. Told that they can buy car tires but they can’t but seeds for a garden.
I could go on as you well know.
It’s sad to see his reaction to what we see here on a daily basis.
He is flying back Wednesday. The engineering firm he works for in Sydney has never shut down. However, he is looking at being in quarantine for 14 days.
BTW, he is taking some Trump 2020 hats back for his Aussie buddies. :)
Even non-freepers have been known to watch Maria Bartiromo; and for some, this is the first they've paid attention to Flynn since long before PeachMint petered out.
I never see any recommendations from these people about how and where to apply pressure; consistently ONLY “Never gonna happen.”
Tell us, WHO do we call, WHERE do we write, WHAT do we say, HOW do we make our numbers and our passion for this country KNOWN in a way that MAKES A DIFFERENCE????
We need a plan, and we need to execute it. I have seen NONE of that.
“He is aghast at what he is seeing that is going on in our country.”
That’s very sad, and very understandable. The left, including the international and subversive Communist/socialist left have been playing divide and conquer politics in our open society for decades. It has paid dividends for them. We must fight hard and stop them.
We all know how this works.
The President dropped a bomb on somebody.
Oops, we made a mistake.
Absofreakinglutely.
The psychotic doom/n/gloom all over FR is why there is only one place I hang out here, other than a brief foray into Eeyore-land now and then.
