The White House has held at least 50 press conferences with the Coronavirus Task Force in the past two months, according to the White House Youtube channel.
“What is the purpose of having White House News Conferences when the Lamestream Media asks nothing but hostile questions, & then refuses to report the truth or facts accurately,” Trump wrote on Twitter...“They get record ratings, and the American people get nothing but Fake News,” .. “Not worth the time and effort!”
Despite some heated exchanges with White House reporters Trump’s daily press conferences drew record ratings to cable news channels.
White House officials are reportedly reconsidering the value of the briefings and the president’s appearance at the podium.

There’s certainly other options than these White House briefings.....I don’t think he has to have these. They served the purpose thus far and now it’s mostly in Governors hands...who are reporting to their states every day now.

Very good idea. He doesn’t need the media and neither does the country. Just hold a virtual Trump Rally.

I asked my wife about 2-3 weeks ago “Why does he bother?” I understand the desire to hold a presser to keep the public informed but the Q&A period got overly long and ridiculous. It had to have been extremely tiring for Trump, Navarro, Birx, etc.
The media really didn’t want to ask questions. Trump should have known that. It was their continued new method of death by a thousand cuts.
I could see Trump getting tired and exasperated. I don’t blame him but the bottom line is “DON’T LET THEM SEE YOU SWEAT”. Trump is not a demi-god and the media realized that by goading him, they were eventually gonna nail him on something.
I got the feeling that the Trump Administration was no longer controlling the message they wanted to give out as he went back and forth with members of the MSM.
Coming from a family in show buz, record ratings mean something. Trump should go back to have the pressers, but reject repetitive hostile questions. He needs to get his message out.
I don’t blame the President one bit. The recent BS about UV and Lysol and the continuous mockery of HCQ is about all I can take anymore also. I have had heated arguments with the same people who used to bash Bush every single day. Both Presidents have rather interesting ways of language and articulation but to purposely take words out of context and twist to make one look like a fool is disgusting especially when we are talking life and death and the stability of the Republic. The media is the enemy just as much as China is in this whole charade.

I enjoyed watching President Trump beat on the anti-American Media like a piñata, but I agree, it’s not worth his time dealing with this pack of jackals, who are looking to misquote, and misconstrue, where ever they can. I don’t know how he was able to put up with that lot of overgrown adolescents.
Exception made for the OANN folks. They are consistently good, and ask serious questions. Not looking for some ‘gotcha’.
