While many Americans are hopeful things will go back to normal by summertime, one leading health expert is not so sure the nation will be out of the woods by then.
Dr. Deborah Birx, leading health expert and member of the coronavirus task force, believes social distancing guidelines will be with the nation through the summer.
Social distancing will be with us through the summer to really ensure that we protect one another as we move through these phases, Birx said.

I’m thinking the worst is passed. In the Sun belt, the virus is about to be exterminated by sun and heat.
I wish she and he pet goblin would just STFU already. And I wish POTUS would replace these two Clinton-loving aholes with other experts; they can’t be the only ones in the country.
I’ll never use a mask after my doctor’s appointment today (required). I haven’t used one before.
I wish POTUS had the authority to postpone the election. I’ve told he doesn’t. (Who does?)
“My life is not as important as the future of our country.”
Well said.
“we can all wear a mask and gloves”
I still don’t get the gloves thing unless there is no Purell, alcohol, bleach, etc., to use on your hands. There probably is a reason, but I haven’t figured it out.
Someone here called it the “hoaxademic”.
“Fauci already said it shouldnt be opened until there are no new cases.”
When he said that did you notice whether or not Hillary’s lips were moving, or how far her hand was up his butt?
“When is POTUS going to realize hes been had,”
Judging by the look on his face weeks ago, I think he had it figured out about three days after the Fauci/Birx insanity began. He looked like he was in a hostage video.
“lots of people were out and about in anchorage”
I lived in Anchorage for 20 years. I LOL when I think of Alaskans buckling under to some dorky guidelines. They will NOT.
“She is moving the goalposts.”
She and her little turd cohort have done this many times. First it was 15 days. Then 30 days. Then ends May 1. Now it’s through summer. They canNOT be taken seriously.
No problem. You are being generous when you call the other side scum.
Medical guidelines and what Governors opt for are two different things...some Dem Govs will hide behind her scarf and others will get back to business...and we’ll see which do the best....and don’t have cities burning ...
Agree. This will sadden Gates, Soros, the 'media', democrats, and Karens.
“Social distancing .... such a pansy-fied cliche. I deliberately say it with a pronounced lisp; i.e., thothial dithtanthing. :-) “
Lol! Thanks for the laugh. I’m going to start saying it like that, too.
I have a week booked in Vegas end of May. Staying with a friend but really hoping some things are open by then. Travel agency just cancelled my trip to Italy end of August. That really saddens me.
He’s such an Clinton-worshiping ahole. It’s good to see that the article was from April 3, so maybe things have changed since then.
I’m on hold with the hospital Radiology department to try to schedule a mammogram. Mammograms ertr put on hold through this hoaxidemic, and early detection was essential for me before. If I lose my one remaining boob due to this guy’s insane dictates, I will be over-the-top pissed off!
Just to be clear...I don’t have a death wish in any way. I enjoy the life I have.
That said, this country (through God and the efforts of my parents) has given me the opportunities that people in other parts of the world can never dream of. I fully appreciate that, and is, in my opinion, part of what is generally referred to as “American Exceptionalism”.
I have never, ever thought that “American Exceptionalism” was something literally in my DNA that set me (us, really) apart from the rest of the world. I believe that if I were born in Venezuela, I might fare no better than the people around me there. Conversely, I believe that people from Venezuela if they came to the USA, would do better here than they would there. So I don’t believe in any way that we are exceptional because we are American. We are exceptional because we LIVE in a country that generally ALLOWS us to be exceptional in everything from personal freedom, to manufacturing, to military prowess.
The key is, I believe that “American Exceptionalism” is more the framework provided by our Constitution married to the culture and tradition for people who are US citizens to live and thrive in, and therefore be exceptional.
The problem is, that there are not only people who come here who don’t want to live in that framework of “American Exceptionalism” (they want to bring their “Sh**hole” native ‘constitutions’, cultures, and traditions with them and adhere to those) but there are people from all facets of society who want to utterly destroy that exceptionalism. These people who wish to destroy “American Exceptionalism” range from people (alarmingly) who have held the Office of The Presidency all the way down to the most recent illegal alien.
So, when I said that my life isn’t as important as the future of our country, it is that framework of “American Exceptionalism” encompassing our government, culture, and tradition that has done more to elevate people out of slavery and poverty that I feel myself to be less important than.
It is my heartfelt gratitude to that spirit that I say that, and believe it in my heart. I may die today, and few will miss me. But if our country, and what it stands for dies, the world will be a far more bitter, tyrannical, and poverty stricken place than it has been since our founding.
Because some people actually heard the BIG news out of Thursdays Press conference, UV light kills the virus right quick. Unfortunately the media declined to repeat that good news and instead hyped their version of what Trump meant, which was in fact a lie.
