As of today, nearly 55,000 Americans are reported to have died because of COVID-19.
It is well known that the elderly and frail are more susceptible to the Wuhan Coronavirus. As a result, almost one of five COVID-19 deaths have occurred among those who live in nursing homes or other long-term care institutions.
New York state is the epicenter of the American outbreak, accounting for 40% of the deaths. The grim statistic stems from the fact New York City has recorded over 155,000 cases (16% of the national total) and over 11,000 deaths (22% of American deaths).
One factor for the NYC numbers is that the NYC subway system is a moving petri dish....Another factor is the New York state mandate that nursing homes must readmit residents sent to hospitals with the coronavirus and accept new patients as long as they are deemed “medically stable.” This order apparently stems from the politically correct motivation of “fairness,” a ludicrous approach to preventing the spread of disease.
The clientele at these establishments now have additional stress and worry about coronavirus exposures.
The American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) is sounding the alarm about the mandate as well.

The nursing home administrator begged the State in an email to take the cover-19 patients. They refused. Imagine the furor if Pres. Trump had done this.
While releasing criminals from jails to protect them from the Corona Virus.
This is the same Monday morning quarterbacking that people do to Trump. Enough! No one could have realistically prepared for all of this especially after not being told the truth by China and the WHO.

That is so strange to me. Why didn’t the Governor send the elderly to the overflow beds. Why didn’t the Governor tell the President of his dilemma? No common sense.

Why did Cuomo interfere with NY doctors ability to prescribe HCQ at early stages, when it most likely works best. Many of the belated treated dead might have lived without Cuomo’s malpracticing medicine. Many dead might have never gotten it without Cuomo’s NH policy to ensure they got infected.
Not quite that bad. Although her victims were mostly out of country, Rachel Carson retains that title. Planned Parenthood likely is #2. Of course Cuomo is a fan of both.

They can try. Then Trump can remind them federal regs were changed to permit facilities to refuse if necessary.
This is all on Cuomo and Albany. Downstate and Upstate. Upstate has its horror stories, too.
There’s a reason why nursing homes were protection from both civil and criminal action in the new budget.
