SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. (KRON) — San Francisco Mayor London Breed said Friday it’s “very likely” the stay-at-home order will be extended due to the coronavirus pandemic.

San Francisco’s stay-at-home order is set to end on May 3. It was first issued on March 16.

Breed said the order could be extended by a few weeks or even another month.

Unfortunately, you had to sign up to attend and registration closed Friday 5 PM. Why in the world would you require 36 hour pre-registration?

Palo Alto closed off all of Page Mill Road to parking. They closed off the parking lot at the Arastradero Preserve, but people still find on-street parking to go hiking.

The city put yellow “Caution” tape on all the benches at the Arastradero Preserve, but most of it has been torn down! It is just so preposterous to close off park benches - what are you going to do, catch it from the guy who sat there 20 minutes ago? There is so little common sense at work in this panic attack.

“We understand microbiology, we understand immunology, and we want strong immune systems,” Dr. Erickson told reporters, rebuffing inconsistent shelter-in-place orders . “I don’t want to stay in my home and develop a weak immune system, and then come out and get a disease.”

Erickson noted that quarantining the healthy is like nothing he’s seen before. “We decided to keep people at home and isolate them, even though everything we’ve studied about quarantine, typically you quarantine the sick,” he explained. “When someone has measles you quarantine them. We’ve never seen the healthy, where you take those without disease and without symptoms and lock them in your home. So, some of these things from what we’ve studied from immunology and microbiology aren’t really meshing with what we know as people of scientific minds who read this stuff.”

Once political authorities lose the consent and trust of the citizens to staying quarantined and tens of millions without jobs or income to meet even basic needs for food and shelter, they have limited choices

Accede and maintain some realistic standards of public health
Accede by stealth - loosening restrictions so it appears they are in control
Repress further to punish the rebellion
