Talk about holding the mayo
But Cuccinelli just stated in a podcast a couple of days ago that part of the reason for so scaling back Trump’s originally broader plan to stop immigration in order to support American jobs was so we could bring in more healthcare workers.
Obamacare would have prevented all of this...

Some of the big ones announced that they were waiving deductibles and copays for COVID-19 patients. They also said they werent going to ask the government for a bailout to cover these enormous expenses.
So how are they going to recover this money theyre shelling out? Its easy ... theyll just pressure their affiliated hospitals to delay or even cancel a whole bunch of other medical procedures that would cost them a lot of money in claims.
Wait, you mean we shut down all medical services except COVID treatments but we don’t need these people after all??
You mean the fear mongers telling us to shut down all medical services were wrong??
A friend is an emergency room nurse at a large county hospital. She says traffic is down 50%. I found that strange - how can unplanned emergencies like heart attacks, home accidents, etc be down? She said many emergency room visits are not for emergencies.
its insane to close down 60 % of our hospital care
insane!
and this is hurting many millions of people and their health
Isn’t that the truth! We lose thousands of hospital employees, then have a real pandemic, which will be really bad, hospitals will actually be overwhelmed
If it’s the only capable medical institution in an area expecting a massive overflow of covid patients, this might make sense. Otherwise, if they don’t have a problem with patients and/or staff spreading the virus, elective procedures should be back on the menu. (If patients themselves want to still put something off til later, that’s fine.)
Re: “About 60 percent of Mayo Clinic’s business comes from elective procedures”
That number sounds really high.
My guess - almost no one wants to risk a doctor visit or a hospital stay, even if they really need treatment.
Mayo Clinic Rochester is ranked in the Top 5 for almost every medical specialty.
Real men of genius caused this! It is time to get rid of those who shut down elective surgeries.
The fascists pretend we must control every contagion to zero before “we’re allowed” to have our freedom back.
Plenty of Mayo. Not enough dough.
The number 1 employer at Mayo Rochester is bill collection.
There are multiple buildings that all they do is shake down people who got ‘authorized’ to go to Mayo.
I had friends who were ‘authorized’, insurance refused to pay after procedure.
They were all set to retire and Mayo crushed those plans.
The Mayo is one of the largest non-profit medical co-oped facilities in the world. They have offices and partners in numerous countries.
Mayo Clinic is regularly acknowledged among the very best in the nation in the following specialties: Cancer. Cardiology and heart surgery. Diabetes and endocrinology. They will even give discounted prices to qualified uninsured patients for medically necessary care.
The application fee at Mayo Clinic School of Medicine (Alix) is $120. Its tuition is full-time: $55,500. The faculty-student ratio at Mayo Clinic School of Medicine (Alix) is 2.7:1. The medical school has 834 full-time faculty on staff. Cheap for a major medical facility.
But they are feeling the hit just like everyone else as the thread indicates. And with their size and locations, their budget is being clobbered. I couldn’t find any information on their world wide facilities.

the consequences of this totally unreasonable “solutions” to covid will be exponential as we allow the rats and pandemics to push the lockdown....
