Lysol and Dettol maker Reckitt Benckiser warned people against using disinfectants to treat the coronavirus, after U.S. President Donald Trump suggested researchers try putting disinfectants into patients bodies.
"Under no circumstance should our disinfectant products be administered into the human body (through injection, ingestion or any other route)," the company said.
Trump said researchers should try to apply their findings to coronavirus patients by inserting light or disinfectant into their bodies.
Is there a way we can do something like that by injection, inside, or almost a cleaning? he said. It would be interesting to check that.
Reckitt said due to recent speculation and social media activity, it had been asked whether internal usage of disinfectants may be appropriate for investigation or use as a treatment.

Reckitt Benckiser clearly thinks their consumers are morons.
They are putting ideas in their viewers heads. Afterall their viewers are non-thinkers.
Some Americans are just plain stupid and the media seem to gravitate to the lowest common denominator.
Then what disinfectant was he talking about? Clorox?
It still sounded like something Biden would say.
I’ve seen homeless people drinking Lysol and they were all the happier for doing so.
President Trump was clearly talking about UV light and medical research. The crooked and corrupt press is twisting his words.
Dang. Tomorrow I was going to inject my butt with DOW Window Silicone, ant then head down to huff some Lysol.
I wish Trump would leave the speculation like this to the doctors.
...
Did you watch the press conference?
He was speaking to a doctor or researcher at the time.
Meanwhile, Joe Biden gets a pass.
Don’t forget to eat your Tide Pods!
;-)
Did not hear him suggest research about pumping Lysol or Clorox into the body.
Did hear him suggest research about pumping sunshine into the body.
Great. Now how about posting the definition of 'disinfectant'?
It was literally indefensible. When I saw the quote I went back to watch it because I thought that he must have been trying to make a joke that the press misinterpreted. No, he was serious.
That surprises you?
Brainstorming is a group creativity technique by which efforts are made to find a conclusion for a specific problem by gathering a list of ideas spontaneously contributed by its members.
In other words, brainstorming is a situation where a group of people meet to generate new ideas and solutions around a specific domain of interest by removing inhibitions. People are able to think more freely and they suggest as many spontaneous new ideas as possible. All the ideas are noted down without criticism and after the brainstorming session the ideas are evaluated.
I wouldn’t expect liberals to understand it but...
Oh, for God’s sake. Trumo’s human and not a geek.
Fauci speaks perfect geek, has thrown 26+ million people and counting out of work, and just torpedoed the world’s greatest economy.
God save us from people who speak geek.
Then what disinfectant was he talking about? Clorox?
Im just going to assume that you are being deliberately obtuse for effect. There is zero reason to think he was talking about Lysol or Clorox. Believe it or not a disinfectant is something that kills of microorganisms like bacteria and viruses. It is not at all inconceivable that a drug can be developed that disinfects the body of COVID-19. Not the best word choice, but theres no need for people who dont have Trump Derangement Syndrome to spin it in ridiculous ways.
Secondly, he absolutely did not suggest that anyone inject themselves with anything but was talking about further scientific research that could be done. But good job at keep up the silly propaganda. Is it safe to assume you blame Trump also for the Darwin award winner drinking fish bowl cleaner because Trump talked about doctors potentially using a long-standing drug by prescription for treatment of the virus?
I heard his comments last night, it sounded like a Biden moment.
