He did NOT say “injecting”. WTF are you trying to do here?

He talked about the potential of UV rays to kill the virus. Think about it, there are ways to possibly use it internally...I’m not a doctor, but when I heard this today I thought of how tubes are stuck down people’s throats for intubation, etc.

He asked questions. He’s not completely wrong. You may not be able to bring uv rays into the body enough to eradicate the virus, BUT during the Spanish flu they learned that patients treated in the open air and sunlight improved survival by as much as 50%.
Sunlight can be part of a cure, as well as prevention.

At the 22 minute mark there’s clarification. And I’m sure he’s referring to some hypothetical medicinal equivalent. Not bleach or Lysol. Sheesh But he was just rambling. He does that snd it comes back to bite him because people are more interested in that then the info provided at 22 minutes.

“ When ABC News’ Jonathan Karl asked Dr. Bryant about whether the president had proposed injecting a person with “bleach and isopropyl alcohol” later, Trump clarified that “It wouldn’t be through injection,” and that he was talking about “cleaning, sterilization of an area,” and about applying the disinfectant to “a stationary object.””

That’s called exploring possibilities. Some ideas work, some do not. You don’t know which is which until you explore them. Is this an impeachable offense?

So what? He does that off-the-cuff, stream-of-consciousness rambling from time to time, it doesn’t matter. He’s not going to start holding people down and injecting them with cleaning fluid.

If Biden said what Trump said today, people here would be laughing and calling him a senile idiot. Don’t embarrass yourself further by suggesting we should research internal UV light as a treatment.

Personally I found idea brilliant. It would be exceedingly easy to introduce UV light inside the lungs. Doctors are well skilled at inserting suction tubes, endoscopes, etc, down airways into the the lungs. How difficult could it be to insert a high intensity, heat shielded, UV LED attached to a endoscope inside each lung for a few seconds of treatment?

Lungs are translucent, so the UV light should be able to penetrate quite a lot of lung tissue, IMO. I see very little in the way of risk by such a procedure compared to the risk someone in critical condition from the coronavirus faces.

I’m no expert, so I may be full of it, but the most modern swimming pool technology doesn’t use chlorine or bromide to clean the water. They use a UV light system - no chemicals, and all those nasty germs, viruses and candy bars are cleaned. Given that, it doesn’t seem too far fetched to use UV to kill a virus. Is it possible to scope the lungs with UV light? Seems to me it would be given the ability to go into your body through every orifice and major arteries (e.g., heart catheterization), but highly unlikely to reach every where. But, I am no expert. There’s nothing wrong with Trump questioning/wondering out loud. It’s a hell of a lot better than rejecting ideas outright.

1) UVC Does Kill viruses and bacteria. 2) Sunlight and fresh air are in-fact anti-Viral agents. 3) asking if there is a way to take advantage of these known facts in some way, for a non-medical expert/non-scientist is a reasonable question to ask given facts 1 and 2.
If Dementia Joe had the wherewithal to even think of such a thing the Media would declare the question pure genius.
If Obama asked the same question, DITTO. But, because it is President Trump...and many not fit to tie the man’s shoes jump all over the man.

Trump isn’t one to stand around and talk science fiction nor does he have a habit of letting his internal monologue just leak out. That seemed like he knows something and is setting up the press again.
