Her bio says she received her PhD in Social Welfare from Brandeis University. Interestingly, the website for Brandeis University does not have a PhD program for “Social Welfare”.
Notably, in 2018 “Doctor” Ferrer received $553,249.00 in compensation from LA taxpayers, according to Transparent California. The 2019 numbers aren’t in yet, but it is safe to assume the compensation is higher.

20,792/2,600,000 is .8%, at least 8 times higher than seasonal flu. And there’s so much more! The seasonal flu death rate of .1% is not based on infections, it is based on SYMPTOMATIC CASES and 75% of flu infections don’t cause symptoms. The Infection fatality rate for the flu, as opposed to the Case fatality rate, is therefore .025%. Covid19 is 32 times as deadly.

I had nasal reconstruction surgery back in the 80s. At the time they put a nose pack in to provide support for bones knitting and general healing. Obviously this eliminated my sense of smell. I found that the majority of my taste sensation disappeared. Food of all kinds was flat and pretty tasteless. Just all texture. At the first doctor visit post surgery I asked my doc about it. He confirmed that the vast majority of our sense of taste originates in our sense of smell. Go figure. Hopefully for the Whoo Hoo Flu victims it is a temporary loss.

I made a typo but the original point of the virus being much more lethal than the flu and would lead to many more deaths than the flu is correct. This a worthwhile article if anyone of the bloodthirsty here would bother to read it.
As of Thursday, nearly 16,000 people in New York have died of virus-related complications. With 260,000-plus confirmed cases, the mortality rate would be as high as 6 percent. With 2.7 million cases, it would be around 0.5 percent — much lower, though still much higher than the seasonal flu.

49,000 dead now with the extraordinary measures we have taken. I believe it very possibly could have been a million or more if we tried to ride it out like Sweden. You are talking the NBA, MLB, NHL, schools, malls all in operation with people in close quarters. I understand steps would have been taken eventually but with the overwhelming of hospitals and the logistical nightmare that would have followed, it would have been a nightmare. Which it is pretty much anyway now for other reasons. And by that time Trump would not have had a chance in the next election. Personally I think he is all over the place with his reaction (he certainly thinks a million or more would have died. Or so he says) so I’m not so sure he has a chance in the fall now anyway. I hope I am wrong.

You are correct that our sense of taste originates in our sense of smell. Experiments have shown when people’s noses are blocked. The person is given an onion and an apple and people can’t tell the difference. Permanently losing your sense of smell would really suck.

I go to work everyday because my job is an essential part of the critical national infrastructure.
I go to the store when I want or need to go to the store be it Publix/Winn-Dixie, Lowe’s/Home Depot, etc.
I don’t wear a mask in public.
I’m not afraid of this virus, I’d prefer to get it and be done with this crap, and I can clearly see the politics behind the lockdown.
