Fox News Poll: Biden tops Trump in Michigan, where Gov. Whitmer is more popular than president

Majorities of Michigan voters are concerned about coronavirus, think President Trump was too slow reacting to it, and favor waiting to reopen the economy. That contributes to Joe Biden leading the presidential race in a Fox News Poll of Michigan registered voters released Wednesday.

Biden’s 8-point advantage over Trump, 49-41 percent, is slightly larger than the poll’s margin of sampling error. However, both candidates remain below 50 percent and 10 percent of voters are still up for grabs.

At one point in October 2016, Michigan State University did a poll, with Hillary leading by 20-plus points. Whoever does polling in the state....generally stays in urban Detroit.

Why can’t Fox News get a proper polling firm?
Their polls are almost always wrong. Who is in charge of their polling then? Smirking Chrissy Wallace?
Whitmer is popular after turning into Hitler?
Yeah right.

Is this among living voters or dead Democrats?

I can remember the Fox polls had Clinton trouncing Trump in all their polls leading up to the 2016 Election!

How embarrassing. It appears some people love karens and enfeebled old men for political figures after all.

This Fox poll was taken after the conventions. It was still polling registered voters at that time, as this poll is.

Fox News Poll: Clinton leads Trump by 10 points, both seen as flawed

Since last month, Clinton’s position is improved with most groups, as she gained ground among men, women, whites, Democrats, young voters, and seniors.

Trump is the choice among whites by 10 points (49-39 percent), men by 5 (45-40 percent), white evangelical Christians by 50 (69-19 percent), and whites without a college degree by 16 (52-36 percent).

Right now he’s underperforming his 2012 counterpart. Romney won whites by 20 points (59-39 percent), men by 7 (52-45 percent), white evangelicals by 57 (78-21 percent), and whites without a degree by 26 (62-36 percent).

Qualified to be president? Sixty-five percent say Clinton is vs. 43 percent Trump. Fifty-eight percent feel he isn’t qualified, including 45 percent who say “not at all.”

Notice how he wasn't doing very well with white evangelicals! Romney did better!

Exit polls show white evangelical voters voted in high numbers for Donald Trump, 80-16 percent, according to exit poll results.

Fox's final poll in 2016, based on likely voters, was fairly accurate but still wrong of course:
With one day before Election Day, Hillary Clinton has a four percentage-point lead over Donald Trump, according to the final Fox News national pre-election poll of likely voters.

“Republican partisans have mostly come home, but it looks to be too little, too late for Trump,” says Republican pollster Daron Shaw, who conducts the Fox News Poll along with Democratic counterpart Chris Anderson.

It said the poll had a margin of error of 2.5%.

Any time a challenger can’t crack 50 percent, they will lose.

The rule of thumb is that the incumbent loses if they can’t crack 50%. Undecideds are said to break heavily for the challenger.

Lazy polling permeates the industry this far out from the election. Most likely, this poll is oversampling in the metro Detroit area, and oversampling females. I used to work in the industry and it’s cheaper to do a statewide sample dump, which will naturally find more responses in densely populated areas, versus a proper poll which controls for responses by region and demographics.

Females are also more likely to complete surveys than men. As it gets closer to the election, the reputable firms will tighten their samples to be more representative of the likely electorate. This is all about cost at this point.

Majorities [sic] of Michigan voters are concerned about coronavirus, think President Trump was too slow reacting to it...

Somebody must be spending a fortune on propaganda in that state, probably Soros.
