So isn't it likely, on the basis of experience, that to insist on betting the farm on a universal, effective "COVID-19" Vaccine is most likely to be at best distant, futile and disappointing, a worst ruinous?

Nope. My son went through all the complications of that a few years ago. It creates the cytokine storm. A few hundred days in the hospital. Countless outpatient trips to the clinic. Therapy. Rehab hospital etc.
