Kentucky experienced its highest single-day spike in coronavirus cases after protests broke out in the state to lift lockdowns, according to reports.

Gov. Andy Beshear announced there were 273 new cases Sunday, bringing the total to 2,960, news station WCPO reported.

“We are still in the midst of this fight against a deadly and highly contagious virus,” Beshear said. “Let’s make sure, as much as we’re looking at those benchmarks and we’re looking at the future, that we are acting in the present and we are doing the things that it takes to protect one another.”

The Bluegrass State is among the regions that have seen demonstrators take to the streets last week to call for the end of lockdown restrictions.

Article: “It’s unclear whether the protests had any impact on the surge of deaths reported Sunday in the state.”

Since the protests were Sunday, and the deaths were reported Sunday, it isn’t actually “unclear.” It’s clear that the protests couldn’t have contributed to the deaths. The headline is just another blood libel.

Interesting bit: Dem. Gov. Andy Beshear is now hiding behind the “White House guidelines.” GR

Good video of patriots in action.

Last night Dr. Scarf seemed to say that the guidelines were not actually binding on governors.

It was one of her more curious performances.

She’s right. That’s why they’re called “guidelines.”

Not strange at all.

Kentucky saw huge spike in motor vehicle accidents after motor vehicles were invented ... said no headline, ever.

Just looking at the blurb - it is just “cases”. Probably from testing. Do more tests, get more cases. But yeah - this virus isn’t “over”. It won’t be for a long time. But that also doesn’t mean things need to be shut down until “no new cases”.

you would think this was about DEATHS! these are simply CASES, and probably result from more testing in JEFFERSON:

20 Apr: Hoptown Chronicle: Ky. reports 273 new coronavirus cases, by far the largest in a day, but health commissioner says numbers still ‘relatively plateaued’
by Al Cross
•Beshear reported four more deaths, for a total of 148; all four apparently were at long-term-care facilities; he said later that they had four more deaths. That makes a total of 50 at such facilities. The deaths were an 85-year-old woman in Jackson County, a 61-year-old man in Jefferson County, a 94-year-old woman in Hopkins County and a 93-year-old woman in Graves County.
•The Cumberland Valley District Health Department announced that 12 new cases had been found at the Jackson Manor nursing home in Annville, some of whom tested negative earlier...

He said some people aged 60 to 75 with the virus can have mild or no symptoms, including those at long-term-care facilities.
•Long-term care facilities reported 33 more cases among residents and eight more among staff, for totals of 386 and 172, respectively.

•Beshear said 129 of Sunday’s new cases were in JEFFERSON COUNTY...

ending lockdowns? expect similar rubbish in every town whether protests take place or not.

She also had a deer in the headlights reaction when asked about this study claiming hundreds of thousands in L.A. have already had it.

Wow! The incubation period is now less than 24 hours.

I just wrote the same thing....The testing is driving the numbers.

It has to be charted as positives within a certain radius or Town or Village.

He only talks about a vaccine. He promised a vaccine for HIV in 1996. Still hasn’t happened. Imagine denying all the folks with HIV any meds until you got a vaccine.

New Yorkers love to make themselves think they are smarter than those great unwashed folks in the South. New York has been flooded with china virus cases, while Kentucky has around 150 deaths. This article is total bull..There is no evidence that the China virus is a problem in Kentucky.

Nice try Governor. The protests will keep coming and growing fast because temperatures will rise and people need to get out and especially people need to work. Not everyone is a government worker or retired with a cushy pension.

She is losing it.

Lately she looks and sounds like she’s just phoning it in.

Surely Trump can find a better doctor for his team.
