Absurd.
This is where they’re needed, most.
Are they required to walk down a street?

To be fair, Metro trains are pretty sparsely populated at the best of times. :P

The biggest spread is by close proximity such as mass transit. I am just a Freeper.

The purpose of masks is to signal that one is sufficiently obedient.

Even SF is requiring masks on mass transit.
Maybe LA doesn’t have many riders.

If you are walking alone you dont need one. Enter a business you have to have one. Misdemeanor. However, for buses, trains and subways it’s only suggested per Los Angeles Times.

2 of our employees recently took the subway train in L.A.
They BOTH HATE wearing maskS. Told us multiple times the LAPD were right beside him while the rest of the clowns in the train wore them.

Besides being used to freedom car gives you and overcrowding the big problem is nature of this city. It's very spread out. I used to work downtown to use the train I would need to drive about a mile and park. Then catch train to downtown then transfer to the subway after a short walk for the 20 block ride to the corner near my office. It was a short 2 block walk from the subway station to my office building. If I wanted to leave early before about 3 good luck since return train very infrequently until start of rush hour. 2 blocks from subway to office is really a short distance. If you worked further away from the line you were on you either hoof it or wait for a very crowded bus. That's the situation in the densest part of the city. If I just want to take the subway it's a 5 mile drive to the city parking lot and closest station. The real problem with the city being spread out is the feeder lines only run on main arteries and if you arent on one its hoof it from line to where you have go. To drive downtown it's about 45 minutes to 60 minutes. The train and subway is maybe 30 to 45 minutes. The city bus is completely out. To get downtown on acked standing room only express bus is close to 1 1/2 to 2 hours during rush hour. For me it would require about 3 transfers and if you miss your transfer it's going to add half hour or so and that's to downtown.

I understand, I lived in LA, for 25 years.
Got out about five years ago...
Sort of semi-retired now. Which at the moment, I am quite grateful for.
