Sen. Joe Manchin, the independent-minded West Virginia Democrat who sometimes irks his party by siding with Republicans, intends to back fellow Democat Joe Biden for president, according to a report.

Manchin, 72, who has served in the Senate since 2010 after previously serving as West Virginia’s governor, was unequivocal about his plans Thursday in an interview with Politico.

“I will, absolutely,” Manchin said when asked if he will support Biden.

His “independence” is a smokescreen which easily fools the people in WV.

Why do people think this guy is so “independent minded”? I’ve never seen him do a darn thing other than talk. He’s full of schiff, and he can’t be very pro-life if he keeps voting pro-death.

The SNAKE! The snake he’s long, seven miles....

I am ashamed to admit it, but this guy had me fooled. What he said and his impeachment vote broke this camel’s back.

Joe Manchin and Mitt Romney can FO together.

ANOTHER ‘real live’ example of

ALL can be sitting around discussing lawyers, politicians etc etc and what a bunch of clowns they are as a whole.

THEN the disclaimer

“EXCEPT MINE”....mine is good, it is the rest of them that are ‘bad’.

Then, after the election, ‘they’ all sit around scratching themselves and saying

“THEY did it again, how do this same old worthless trash keep getting reelected”???

Definitely need an ANTI incumbent campaign hopefully getting a group in there that believes in term limits..

BUT that better happen before the BNGs figure out how lucrative the ‘position’ is.

He's a damned democrat, for Pete's sake...they lie...they obfuscate...they just plain bullshit...they are democrats...it's what they do.

So pathetic to watch:

Bernie: can endorse Biden because he will collect delegates and move Biden to the left.

Manchin: Biden an independent minded democrat.

As a West Virginia resident, let me assure you all that Manchin is in no way a “moderate.” He represents a state that voted for Trump in 2016 by a margin of 42 percent. He is playing the game all politicians play — How can we fool the stupid voters today? It may be that the Dems threatened him with a cut-off in funding (or a primary challenge) if he did not endorse Biden, but he will take no active part in Biden’s campaign, and will do all he can to make West Virginians forget he ever did this.

Manchin is a Democrat first and an American second like all others with a D after their name.

Well Joe is a fellow Senator, and was fairly well thought of in the Senate.

Manchin started Senate in 2010 so their terms did not overlap. Sleepy Joe assumed VP role in January 2009

I think if Dems nominated a more radical candidate, like Bernie or Warren, Joe would take the safe bet and go with his fellow Mountaineers.
