There are a lot of people who are ruining the country right now, according to Michael Savage. Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. Liberal mayors in big cities like San Francisco. Undocumented immigrants. Homeless people.
But for the past two months, listeners to Mr. Savages conservative radio show have heard him howl with unabated contempt about another menace: The pimps in the right-wing media who tell you what you want to hear. They are intellectual dwarfs and science illiterates, he says, who spent weeks downplaying the threat from the coronavirus epidemic and accusing President Trumps opponents of exaggerating it to hurt him politically.
On Mr. Savages broadcast, which has one of the largest audiences in talk radio with 7.5 million listeners each week, the virus has never been a hoax or a bad case of the sniffles. He has lectured his fans on the research in detail: How it is transmitted; which treatments are proving effective; and the difference between morbidity and mortality rates.
With no small amount of self-satisfaction, Mr. Savage reminds people of his credentials a Ph.D. and training in epidemiology and of the fact that he was one of the few voices in conservative media who had warned them all along.

The blind leading the blind, inmates running the asylum, etc. The situation seems to be feeding on itself as of late, especially as the Rat party has removed all doubt of its pretenses. Unfortunately at some point these metropolitan hellholes are going to be beyond repair, as the citizens continue to vote for the Rats who never deliver on their promises, but rather just promote class warfare as the outlet for their angst, while their communities crumble. Not sure of the solution other than to border them off, as I believe in individual responsibility, of which they want none, and external investments are squandered.
Savage has a tremendous huge ego. He reminds the listener
daily about his higher education credentials etc. When I listen to talk radio, I pay little attention to a person who brags about their background. My motivation is to learn something different; get a different take on an issue. I can remember Professors similar to Savage years ago in college.
They always had lots of information, but seemed to talk down to us. Students would resent those Professors. My approach was always to try and learn something, ignoring the ego part. I have learned from Savage lots just as a teacher. Personally, I dislike the parts when he is full of himself.
For the record, Limbaugh asserted the corona virus is like a cold in that it is from a similar virus family as colds-—to which Dr. Gupta conceded, and for which medicine has yet to find a cure.
As for practical reality, colds don’t kill while COVID-19 often is fatal in the old and compromised -—much like the flu kills the old and infirm. Very rarely the young.
Finally, the dangers of HCQ have been widely known since its been a prescribed medication for 60 years-—for those with heart issues being the most common.
Nothing new there, Michael.
Flights from Europe. Filthy and crowed mass transit. Elevators. D-rat mayor and governor. Maybe deliberate Chinese carriers. Maybe colder weather and less sun (vitamin D). ... Lots of possible explanations reasons.
Savage sees the corona virus as an opportunity to improve his brand vs his competitors. He jumped into this with criticism of Limbaugh and Hannity mocking their lack of education compared with his. Anything they say regarding science/medicine is mocked especially with regard to the the threat from the virus. Limbaugh’s early statements comparing Corona to the flu were met with outrage by Savage, who after weeks of rants had to admit (sort of) that the number of dead were not likely to be much higher than from the flu. This seemed to drive him over the edge and he then started claiming to be “a Ph.D. level epidemiologist”. I had never heard him make this claim before (I am not a daily listener) and it seems unsupported by previous statements about his training. In the last few days he just takes the opposite position from those taken by Limbaugh and manically defends China from listeners who accuse them of releasing the virus. He is just losing it.
Apparently his son founded Rockstar energy drinks, and is a billionaire from that business. Id love to see the story of how he created that success, and the steps that go into inventing and successfully marketing a product that catches fire. More interesting than politics, and more useful for those with entrepreneurial ambitions
Glenn Beck still has a program?
ML/NJ
Yes. I don’t listen to him but I can still locate him on the dial
>> Limbaughs early statements comparing Corona to the flu were met with outrage by Savage,
How queer, the medical experts were telling us the same back in January February
>>This seemed to drive him over the edge and he then started claiming to be a Ph.D. level epidemiologist. I had never heard him make this claim before (I am not a daily listener)
“Ph. D level” but perhaps not actually.
He did some books on plants and medicine decades ago.
OK
I agree with Savage, Hannity is complete moron. He and Ingram are completely unwatchable to me!
Hannity:
1. Was a supporter and frequently had as his guest - John Bolton. Hannity convinced Trump to add him to his cabinent. Bolton loved wars and turned on Trump in the end.
2. Hannity got Jones elected as Alabama Senator, by doing his hit job on Roy Moore. Moore was being Kevvanhoughed by the left (and the Rinos) and was despised by the Republican Deep State. Hannity came to the aid of his deep-state republican friends.
3. Has only a 9th grade education and it shows! His lack of cognitive skills really shows.
4. A great supporter of anyone who has Republican in front of their name, regardless of how treacherous they really are.
5. Loves deep-state republicans like McConnell, Linda Graham, Carl Rove, ....... on and on. All talk and no action Linda, is a frequent guest on Hannity and is never asked why isnt he doing anything?
6. Cannot let anyone finish a sentence, because he has to be in control.
7. Starts his show with preachy monologues that convinces no one. Comes off as a brainless partisan hack.
8. Called the Coronavirus a Hoax. Continually downplays its severity (I know a lot of the FRep crowd support this, but thats another discussion).
My recommendation, replace him with Lou Dobbs, who understands the serious problems at hand and who has a much higher intelligence level.
I wonder also?
Another point:
Salvage’s books are excellent and are required reading for my kids. There is very little than I can criticize about these books. I suggest that all Freepers read these books!
Also I ask if anyone has a problem with protecting our boarders, Language, and culture? If we had protected our boarders we would not be in the current crises.
Thank you. Their hearts are often in the right place, but Fox prime time is basically rattlers and ranters.
Tucker too - much of the time. His reporting on the EB-5 program was nothing less than pure yellow journalism. He obviously knew nothing about the subject matter - but was eager to just slander everyone and everything involved - on his pre-fab idiotic and incorrect notions.
That's just one example. He and his producers/staff basically do NO investigative work on their subject matter. Just grab-n-go with the blather of the day. The shut-ins on FR think he's great.
Talking heads basically pick news stories up off the ground then go on TV and become mouth-breathing ranters - something like the soap-box preachers in Life of Brian.
Who TF wants to watch his scowling mug bark and blather like he does. On top of it, as you point out, he's a fkn simpleton, with no depth of thought. I feel like I'm being punished when I watch him.
I guess if you have no eardrums and the IQ of a tree sloth, he's good.
Oh please. What do you 2 numnuts know about the disease more then anyone else?
Telling viewers/listeners not to act out of panic is not "downplaying the threat".
He said it was a Hoax! and more than once.
Then later it was “nothing you should worry about”
The only serious point of disagreement between Trump and Savage is in treating the virus with hydroxychloroquine, which the president has hailed as a potential miracle drug. Almost every day now, Savage said in the interview, Ive been warning people about the dangers of this drug. He said he was appalled after hearing that Trump boosters like Hannity and Rudy Giuliani, the presidents personal lawyer, were citing the unverified findings of a doctor outside New York City. Thats not a controlled study, he said, adding that Dr. Giuliani had no business talking about it.
Otherwise he's just talking about restaurants, his dog, and herbal medicine.
It's a turf war, too. Dude doesn't like rivals.
