Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said on Thursday that the border between Canada and the U.S. likely won't reopen to nonessential travel anytime soon as the coronavirus outbreak continues to spread.
“There’s a recognition that as we move forward there will be special thought given to this relationship. But at the same time we know that there is a significant amount of time, still, before we can talk about loosening such restrictions,” Trudeau said at a daily briefing, according to Reuters.
Asked Wednesday if he is considering relaxing restrictions at the border with Canada, President Trump said “our relationship with Canada is very good" and "we’ll talk about that.”
“It will be one of the early borders to be released. We’re doing well. We’ll see. But at some point, we’ll be doing that,” Trump added.
Last month, Trump announced that the two countries agreed to close the border to nonessential travel in response to the coronavirus outbreak.

GF and I are supposed to go to Alaska on June 4th, cruise ship supposed to leave from Vancouver. I'd booked a suite in Vancouver for a few days ahead of June 4th so we could visit the city.

Well, the loonie has fallen so far in relation to the US dollar none of us can afford to travel to the USA anyways. Plus it will cost my family $600 to get passports renewed.

Can you imagine the POWERHOUSE North America could be if we got ALL of our Ducks in a Row? We are the third largest Continent on the PLANET! We are comprised of 23 different countries! Yeah, well, Greenland, too - but we could use that barren wasteland for landfill. (JUST KIDDING!) Or oil? (NOT kidding!)
How about if we just converted Canada and Mexico to a Representative Republic way of life? Our Constitution is a tad wordy, and some of that old-timey writing is hard to read, but it’s easy enough to copy in SPIRIT!

Call your card issuer and dispute the charge. They’ll reverse it.

LOL, I always tell my wife that I would not be a nice leader of the world. I would probably hunt down and oppress all the communist organizations and might have to kill a few people. So good thing I will never be POTUS. Yeah $100 each for a passport, but they all come due at the same time. Family of 6 times $100. They must be renewed every 5 years.
