We are a few days away from a rendezvous with some tough conclusions about COVID-19.
A number of concurrent developments are coming to a head. Most will bring light where so far there was only heat.
Greater information about the virus might cause as much acrimony as conciliation. Some experts will be discredited, others reaffirmed.
Antibody testing is expected to get under way shortly. Soon, several representative studies will give the country an accurate idea of how many Americans have been infected in the past few months.
With a more trustworthy denominator to compare against known deaths, we will finally learn just how lethal the virus is and whether comparisons to a severe annual flu are legitimate or still inapplicable.
Likewise, there will be greater precision in distinguishing those whose deaths were exclusively virus-related from those who were afflicted by serious chronic illnesses along with the virus. That will also help provide better data about the actual toxicity of the virus.
Those with antibodies will likely be able to return to work with little risk. Arguments will arise over whether their status should be cataloged and banked, or whether such classification would institutionalize creepy two-tier categories of citizenship.
The prior pessimism of most epidemic models will either be confirmed or refuted, depending on the percentages of Americans who have already weathered the virus.

Perhaps in the short term stupidity, banality do appear to triumph because they aid evil. However, I prefer the theology of the cross philosophy to explain the ultimate outcome:

Jesus’ death on the cross - God’s weakness - enables his people to show His love and forgiveness to the world; which ultimately overcomes its suffering and death.

While you have been incarcerated in your homes, the federal government has flown in over 1000 special refugees from Afghanistan and distributed them around the US in a 4 week period from mid March to mid April.
And a lot of people probably won’t have functioning kidneys or T-cells.
Interesting video. The man makes a pretty food case for there being two strains of this virus. And he would not be the first to hint strongly at this.
With a bit of medical background, the video has several data points worth noting.
The viral load in some builds very quickly, while in others is a slower build up. The HCQ and Zinc treatment if begun early in the disease seems to drastically reduce the viral load while reducing airways inflammation. It may also alter the pH jusdt enough to inhibit virus attachment phase.
If immunity is the goal, release HCQ to be written by any physian or physician's assistant, along with Zinc supplementation, so any symptoms show treat early and aggressively. Then the population forms immunity without destroying the economy and the nation. Waiting for the gatesian vaccine and data dots is not the way to have a future America.

WHAT survives? Fragments? Intact, infectious virus? How? At what level of virus present?
There is recent information that it isn’t even necessary to wipe down all packages entering the home and definitely not fresh produce.
This is a question of persistence versus contagion.
I have long suspected that the reason for early advice was a combination of insufficient information (perhaps purposeful) and a cynical decision to exacerbate the OCD tendencies of a portion of the populace.
We use alcohol to disinfect oral thermometers & shopping cart handles, yet are told the lipid capsule of COVID 19 will not be disrupted by cleaning surfaces with alcohol. That’s one confusing example, off the top of my head.
A portion of the populace is spooked to the point of masking, gloving and distancing outdoors in the sun with a 10 mph wind. I have observed this.
Our county, BTW, is the only one in our area of the state with no confirmed cases, yet we know people who have had *something* that meets the parameters of COVID 19.
People out here just don’t go to the doctor or hospital. One local MD admits he thinks he’s seen multiple cases from January within a distinct subgroup of our largest little town.
I have more concern, personally, for the political & economic situation. I’ve read Bracken’s “Enemies” series and
found it believable.
Maybe I’m in denial.
IF lab workers were selling lab animals at the market, those who purchased and prepared the animals for cooking were exposed to whatever the labs were ‘cooking’. Think about it ...
...none of them have it, how curious.

They could have it or have a mild case and no one would know if the media didn’t report it.
How effective is the present flu shot? It is not a vaccine and vaccines do not seem effective for mutable influenza virus.
I’ve also read that mutations have already been observed and they are of decreased strength. This is the normal course for influenza virus.
More likely they are taking the HCQ/zinc/Zpak stack.
I thought it was that in the beginning until one of the Chinese officials made the comment that the virus must have come from the US because we “responded too quickly”. Who says that unless there was an expected result that didn’t materialize?
There is the theory ‘out there’ that the athletes going to Wuhan were exposed to a strain which rendered immunity to the weak version, then before they were sent to Wuhan they were exposed to the more lethal strain which they carried to Wuhan. Make of it what you will, but the infection patterns are pointing to two strains, one mild, like a seasonal flu, the other quite lethal with a span of helix pairs which repeat in a long string, ramping up replication activity dramatically beyond the mild version.
