Iceland has tested one-tenth of its population for coronavirus at random and found that half of people have the disease without realising.
They also discovered that 1,600 people have been infected with Covid-19 since the start of the outbreak. Of these cases, there were only seven deaths, indicating a fatality rate of just 0.004 per cent, which is significantly lower than other countries, including the UK.
The findings were made during Iceland's rigorous testing campaign, conducted with the help of Reykjavik-based biopharmaceutical company deCODE genetics, which has seen 10 per cent of the 364,413 population swabbed, something yet to be achieved by any other nation.

Huh? 12% fatality rate? I call BS.
Lots of math problems in the article. For example, if 10 per cent of the 364,413 population was tested, that means 36,000. If half of those have been infected, that’s 18,000. Where do they get “1,600 have been infected?” Also, if 1600 have been infected, resulting in 7 deaths, thats a fatality rate of 0.45 percent, not 0.004 percent as they state. (If the correct number is indeed 18,000, then the fatality rate is 0.04 percent, still not 0.004 percent.) Etc.
Better test Antarctica.
I don't think Fauxcy and Birx have any CDC/NIH US data to be able to say that.
The biggest problem is that it’s just a snapshot, you could be perfectly clean at the time of the test then contract the virus the next day.
0.12% is not 12%
0.12% is less than 1.5%
Today, JHU CSSE changed their US reporting:Bring Out Your DeadTested 2,688,766 Confirmed 530,200 Hospitalized 82,809 Recovered 32,314 Deaths 20,614
Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.
The purpose of the Bring Out Your Dead ping list (formerly the Ebola ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.
The false positive rate was 100%.
At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the Bring Out Your Dead threads will miss the beginning entirely.
*sigh* Such is life, and death...
If a quarantine saves just one child's or one old farts life, it's worth it.
Oh, I’m not looking at the tests they’re using for the idea of it being employed as a “clean/not clean” metric, just looking at it as a monitor of the progress or course of the disease. This thing seems to be all over the place even if we toss all the Chinese ‘data’ out.
A swab would be gor active virus
“have the disease”
That sounds real bad. They have “the disease”
How many died from “the disease”?

It is, because all it says is that the virus got into your body and your immune system responded to it. It’s all incredibly vague. In fact a vaccine will give you a false positive since, yes, your body will give the antibody response to it as well. Your body likewise still retains the antibodies as a passive defense even after you have gotten better, for a variable amount of time.
This proves my point that some people are hardier stock than others!
Can you imagine having this reporter as your doctor - or accountant?

“It said 50 milligrams of morphine... that’s half a gram right?”
“Yep, your taxable income of $100,000 times a tax rate of 30 percent is 30 dollars.”
Spend tens of Billion$ on testing, not tens of Trillion$ on Pelosi’s Green New Deal and on increased legal vote harvesting.
36,000 random samples is a huge test regardless of the total population. 50% infection rate in that large of a sample is very significant. I doubt there were large numbers of Chinese visiting Iceland last fall and winter. The virus had probably not been introduced in large numbers until relatively recently. I would think this study reflects how contagious this thing is.
When you look at the infection rates and total number of COVID-19 deaths in California, Oregon, and Washington state, I think you have to reach the same conclusion...
In my opinion, millions of West Coast residents had robust immunity to COVID-19 before it officially arrived in the USA in January 2020.
My own theory is that the four strains of coronavirus that cause the common cold confer some level of immunity to COVID-19.
When I moved to the West Coast about 25 years ago, I caught two terrible colds that were unlike any respiratory infection I had ever had in the Southeast or Midwest USA.
In retrospect, the onset and the symptoms of those two colds were identical to COVID-19.
Bottom Line - the number of deaths from COVID-19 and seasonal influenza on the West Coast are almost identical.
That sort of medical outcome must have a clear empirical basis.
This article had either PISS POOR WRITING or was a DELIBERATE ATTEMPT TO DECEIVE.
They should have CLEARLY written that OF THOSE PEOPLE WHO TESTED POSITIVE 50% FELT NO SYMPTOMS. The critical words being OF THE PEOPLE WHO TESTED POSITIVE FOR CARRYING THE VIRUS.
>>>> No, the UKs fatality rate is 12 percent, which equals 0.12 of a whole. Icelands is 0.4 percent, or .004 of a whole. <<<<
>> 0.12% is not 12% <<
Never said it was. What I said was that 0.12 was 12%. “%” means “divided by 100.” “Per” means “divided by” and “cent” means 100.
