Scientists created a computer simulation to study how far the virus can travel indoors - and worryingly found how a cloud of droplets will infect others even after the sick person has walked away.

Good grief. You are so right. I lived through Asian flu. 116,000 died in the US with a population of 177,000,000, half what it is now. This is totally overkill and deception.
All the baby-boomers have now become flu/cold season death targets by their age and health. And they protected their children from all those things that made them so brave.
I agree with everything you wrote about airborne transmission. But please check CDC guidelines: Covid 19 is droplet transmission, not airborne.
Droplet precautions. Every briefing, the task force is emphasizing social distancing and handwashing. Surgical masks to protect you when you are taking care of someone coughing near you.
Airborne precautions are warranted in emergency or acute settings during aerosol producing treatments: aerosol medications, intubations, bronchoscopies, mechanical ventilation.
Frontline EMS, Emergency room staff and family members taking care of coughing relatives....everyone needs to protect themselves from coughs with Droplet precautions. Eyeshields, faceshields, surgical masks, gloves, frequent handwashing, not touching face and social distancing. Minimizing up close exposure time for anyone suspected or positive for a droplet transmitted virus.

A few years ago, the Discovery show Mythbusters proved that a normal sneeze sprays droplets about 17 feet max. A cough would probably be slightly less; a sneeze seems more forceful.
It’s only common sense and good practice to cover your face when coughing or sneezing, regardless of whether it’s China Flu or a common cold.
Either way, handkerchiefs may be making a huge comeback pretty soon...

Agreed - Mythbusters crew was using snuff to induce the sneeze, and used colored dye to measure the splashes.
Interesting episode, though. There was also a spot about an infected person touching articles/items and having it show up all over other people (simulated dinner party, host sneezing and coughing, etc.).

While you’re getting all wee weed up go back and study what happens to people living sheltered lives in pristine germ free environments. There immune systems are compromised b/c the white blood cells never have to do battle. Therefore the body does not build up defenses against germs.
