“It’s hard to switch tracks when the train is going a million miles an hour,” said Kyle-Sidell, who works at a New York City hospital. “This may be an entirely new disease,” making ventilator protocols developed for other conditions less than ideal.

At today’s briefing, POTUS mentioned the number of vents that we have on hand, today....something like 10K in storage (in addition to the 8k already shipped) and 2k more, arriving next week.

Overuse of ventilators -- refusal to embrace hydroxychloroquine.

Did Democrat politicians get anything right in the fight against coronavirus?

Fewer trips to the ventilators and FEWER DEATHS?

I watched his (Kyle-Sidell) video, the one where he says ventilators may be the wrong thing to use because their lungs are working just fine. It’s the Covid-19 virus that is attaching itself to the red blood cells and preventing the red blood cells from absorbing the air to carry to other organs, if I remember correctly. Now it sounds like he is saying something quite different.

Apparently CV attacks hemoglobin and wipes out the Fe.

Blood transfusions are apparently better than intubation.

Perhaps New York City is getting invalid results from their Oxygen tests.

Time to check the tests?

Also, they need skilled technicians to draw blood from an artery, usually in the wrist.

The pain can be significant, especially if they miss the artery (which they cannot see) and have to repeat deep jabs.

Maybe NYC has idiot techs who draw low oxygen blood from veins after they get tired of listening to screaming patients?

What a freaking lie...ventilators running out??? There’s like a monster surplus all around the country. We are being scammed big time by two fake doctors.

Ventilators are not running out. And they won’t run out. We don’t need as many as first thought based on flawed models. There are so many in the pipeline that we will soon have more ventilators than we can possibly use, hence Trump saying we will be sending many of them abroad.

Once a patient gets on a ventilator, it is usually game over. Two- thirds or more die. The other third may suffer permanent lung damage.

Trump needs an EO that anyone not perscribing Hydroxychloquine and zinc without good reason will be tried not only for malpractice but murder. There is no way in hell I would waste time on a ventilator before I demanded Trump drugs!

Very interesting, this, about using CPAPs and BiPAPs in preference to ventilation in C-19 patients, because of some very strange, unique characteristics of coronavirus disease progression.

The problem is not the lungs. It is that the virus affects the red blood cells ability to function and deliver oxygen. Vents won’t help that at all. .

My Father had sleep apnea and was using a cpap.

After he develoled Parkinson's Disease he coul no longer tolerate it.

He would wake up gasping with an O2 Sat of 70.

Against the doctor's advice I put him on O2 with a nasal cannula.

He would sleep through the night with an O2 sat of 98%.
