Fauci: I don't think we should shake hands 'ever again'

Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergies and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) and key member of the White House coronavirus task force, on Wednesday suggested that Americans should never shake hands again.

"When you gradually come back, you don't jump into it with both feet. You say what are the things you could still do and still approach normal. One of them is absolute compulsive hand washing. The other is you don't ever shake anybody's hands," Fauci told The Wall Street Journal's podcast.

"I don't think we should ever shake hands ever again, to be honest with you. Not only would it be good to prevent coronavirus disease, it probably would decrease instances of influenza dramatically in this country," the doctor added.

I just finished watching a recording I had made of “7 Days in May,” and after the movie, they showed a film, about 60 or 65 years old, titled “Duck and Cover.” It showed a school bus, big flash, then the inside of the bus with kids diving into the aisle. The announcer said they should dive away from the windows. Then the classroom, with kids ducking under their desks and covering themselves with whatever they had. And I wondered how much that that is like this thing with the panicvirus. I guess we won’t know (like we didn’t know then), if we’re overreacting, or even being asinine, or not.
