A task force led by the American Thoracic Society in New York has temporarily endorsed using hydroxychloroquine for hospitalized coronavirus patients with “severe pneumonia.”
The group stressed the recommendation only applies to hospitalized patients where the “clinical condition is sufficiently severe to warrant investigational therapy.”
And the endorsement only applies to cases where the patient can be informed of the malaria drug’s possibly lethal side effects, the task force said. The group further warned its recommendation would not apply in the event of a “shortage of drug supply.”

What is the big deal?
It either works or it doesn’t.
It may work for some but not others.
It has been around since WWII and it’s side effects are well known and documented.
The MSM apparently don’t like that it might work. They seemingly want people to die so as to ‘blame’ Trump...............

Hydroxychloroquine continues to gain support from credible sources, and the Democrats just for the fact they are fighting the product is an endorsement. Just not credible.
This people don’t care about lives - this organization is a joke. All the conditions imposed here?? Best treatment is to get this ASAP outpatient when symptoms first appear.

Lousy advice. If hydroxychloroquine and Zithromax are going to be most effective, they should be taken with the onset of fever and dry cough, before a formal confirmatory test result is available and definitively before if possible when a patient has developed shortness of breath. If upon presentation to a physician the x ray shows signs of actual pneumonia, the prognosis with or without hydroxychloroquine is bad. That is why hydroxychloroquine must be widely available to primary care physicians.
BTW still would love to know the truth regarding Chris Cuomo. Did Fauci really advise him not to use it after he said if he himself were to be infected, he would use it himself. Also would like confirmation if unlike most New Yorkers Chris Cuomo had easy access to the drug. He’ll never admit using it because if he did Commissar Zucker at CNN would fire him.
Meanwhile thousands will suffer and die needlessly because these idiots are so wedded to their bureaucracy and group-think.
Why wait, everything I’ve read talks about it’s prophylactic properties that prevent you from getting the virus in the first place.

Actually it reportedly works great—as long as you administer it well ahead of the point at which this group is backing it.
They could put the crew on hydroxychloroquine and there would be very little problem.
I sort of feel like we wouldn't shut out economy down over lupus under any circumstances but we did for coronovirus. So it's either the number one priority or it isn't. It's either the most dangerous thing we ever faced or it isn't. It seems, increasingly, like it isn't. It's bad, but nowhere near as bad as we were told. And we nuked our economy for now reason.
OR... nuking our economy made it be not as bad as we were told. That debate will go on for years, unless cases explode moving forward and make the point moot.
Biopharms are still hoping for a window into which they can insert some new drug that’s not necessary but costs a lot.
