This showed up on my daily Weather Channel update this morning. Somehow, I think somebody's numbers must be a bit off.

Total deaths to date will hit 10,000. Did you think they were implying our one day total today would be 10,000?
Ambiguous headline. On purpose?

Scare mongering is the way of the liberals.
Take NM, they are talking apocalypse at 45 virus hospitalizations in a itty bitty state of over 2 million population after weeks of a virus supposed to kill tens of millions nationwide. 45 freaking hospitalizations and they scream ‘shut it down’, stay at home, yada yada yada.

Trump was wise to resist the call for a national shutdown. NM is an example of why that wasn't a good idea. And, people are still calling for a national shutdown.
Hillary Clinton would have enforced a national shutdown in a moment.

Just in the United States?

IDK about that. Remember, they had a huge number of flu deaths in a year (Over 60K) and nobody batted an eye.

Just in the United States? Yes. CDC data can be found here:
https://www.cdc.gov/flu/weekly/weeklyarchives2019-2020/data/NCHSData13.csv
You have to download the file into Excel, then you can add up the column deaths from pneumonia, and deaths from flu, to get the total number of deaths due to influenza.
I got my numbers by starting at 2019 week 49 (first week of December) to the last entry, week 12 of 2020.

Are those 10k+ deaths from coronavirus, or do they include deaths from other illnesses where people also were tested positive for coronavirus?
