It makes me very sad to see that. I’m very sorry and will hope for a miracle for her. I’m somewhat obese and older but have been working hard and eating less to lose the weight for a long time. Another, younger family member has been doing the same. For us, it’s only a matter of getting enough sleep or otherwise really pushing ourselves to raise our metabolism.

Move more and eat less was a horrible punishment for people who were fed the entire food pyramid scheme. Just cut the carbs to less than 20 grams a day and restrict your eating to an 8 hour window. It just works. Please trust me.
1) Ketogenic diet (like Atkins) -- extreme low carb
2) Intermittent fasting -- eat only in a 4-hour window each day
3) Intermittent fasting: 24 hour fast every other day (remarkably easy to stick to after the first few days). If you have problems at the beginning, eat a little salt.
