Dr. Deborah Birx: This Is Not the Time to Go to the Grocery Store
Breitbart ^ | 4/4/20 | Charlie Spiering

Posted on 04/04/2020 6:58:35 PM PDT by david1292

Dr. Deborah Birx said Saturday that Americans should especially focus on social distancing guidelines in the next two weeks to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.

“This is the moment to not be going to the grocery store, not going to the pharmacy, but doing everything you can to keep your family and your friends safe,” she said.

Birx noted that Pennsylvania, Colorado, and the Washington, DC, metro area were starting to have an increasing number of cases.

“We’re hoping and believing that if people mitigate strongly, the work that they did over the last two weeks will blunt that curve,” she said.

She pointed to really bad hotspots in New Jersey and New York, where cases of the virus and deaths were still going up.

“The next two weeks are extraordinarily important,” she said.

Dr. Anthony Fauci also said three or four hotspots were continuing to rise, but that certain areas could flatten the curve by social distancing.

“Just make sure everybody does the at least minimal amount of that physical separation, because the virus has no place to go if you’re physically separating,” Fauci said.

The graph is silly. There were at least 23,000 deaths due to the seasonal flu. There is no way this chart gets close to that.

Pharmacies deliver as do grocery stores.

Our "store brand" bread goes quick. Buying other "Made in Texas" brands though. A little more expensive, but that's okay.

Be safe, Bro.

I go to the store about once a week. Unless you want to order, and pay for my meals, including delivery and tips Doc, you can go to hell.

Whenever something important like this comes up, I think...”What would Corn Pop do?”

We enjoy fried eggs, as well.

We’re pretty stocked up.

I froze about...gosh...10 doz eggs...a couple of months ago.

Hubby likes scrambled eggs (blech!!) and I can use them for baking.

I froze half and half and heavy cream, too.

We’re not milk drinkers.

I make a pitcher of unsweet tea/day.

We don’t eat many carbs, at all.

I have had my doubts about this woman from the get-go. I think it has something to do with those scarves she wears every day. They just scream "Leftist know-it-all" to me.

In 2017-2018, there were 61,000 deaths from the flu. Does that chart look anywhere near accurate?

I'm double cooking too some days. Not freezing it though, I'm eating it the next day.
Then I make tuna fish or lunch meat sandwiches on the third day to stretch things and for a change. LOL

The cat tastes better

I've always enjoyed cat at Chinese restaurants so long as the restaurant has the right sweet and sour sauce.

I'm glad not everyone is limiting testing to those believed to be ill. That's a good stat....approx 10% have it...now what happened to them. They need a followup. Everyone infected should be getting the malaria cocktail. Kill the damn thing.

Good thing we didn't treat our everyday antibiotics like we're treating this malaria cocktail.

You understand that the flu deaths are marked over a period of many weeks.

Just because the flu bars are lower than the CCP-19 doesn’t mean they represent less deaths, because the flu bars are LONGER. The flu bars represent more deaths.

The CCP-19 bar represent deaths happening at a far faster rate over a much shorter period of time, about 5 weeks.

How the Hell is it that no one can read a graph around here?

Damn.

Hah!

Thanks for the laugh, literally.

That's someones opinion that is scientifically meaningless.

"I know it's not apples to apples, the estimated number of flu deaths is about 6 times higher than the numbers recorded by the NCHS, but there is every reason to believe that the actual number of coronavirus fatalities is also larger than the subset that gets confirmed. There has only been 4 weeks of data. Where is this going to end up?"

Left that little disclaimer off the current graph.

Twitter: @RonanKelly13 The views expressed are mine alone and do not represent the views of my employer or any other person or organization.

I'm sorry, but that graph is a joke and any reason for posting it is unconscionable, IMO.

Arguing about it would be pointless considering the source and disclaimers from the source itself.

That chart is wrong. There were at least 6,000 deaths per week in Jan 2018 (60,000 deaths times 10% from flu). Look at your chart, do you see the green line adding up to 61,000? I don't.
